The slowness and somewhat repetitive themes in the initial half are compensated to a certain extent by the ending. The final 25% or so delivers satisfaction on most counts. The only main issue with this section was one character’s intent to suicide. Must suicide be a part of MG works? To change the width of a column, or height of a row, hover your cursor over the grey line denoting the edge of the column or row, until your cursor changes to look like this:

But an important part of this story is Eliza, the strange girl fond of photography who seems obsessed with taking a picture of a ghost. You can do the same with columns, if you wished to freeze names for example, so you can scroll horizontally across lots of columns of data. What I didn't like: Most of my disappointment with the book comes from the difference in available data on pregnancy and on small children. There are a lot more variables, as she will tell you, once a child is out in the world and these variables only get more complicated as the child gets older. It's hard to tell whether staying at home or working or having a nanny really affects a child's educational achievements because there are so many other contributing factors in families that choose each of those options. Because of this, most of the scientific suggestions are vague. The entire book can almost certainly be summed up as "Studies suggest that x has more positive effects, but the effects are not positive enough to outweigh a negative impact on your family's individual lifestyle." For example... She goes pretty deep into sleep training (I was biased as pro-sleep training going in, so take that into consideration). She concludes that sleep training generally does not cause harm and results in better sleep for both children and parents. HOWEVER, she points out that if sleep training will cause you anxiety and you are happy with an arrangement that doesn't involve sleep training, then that will most likely be better for your family. That's pretty much how all the recommendations go. That's something I really liked about her analysis, but it also meant I didn't get the same sense of comfort from data that I got from the first book. Data Limit: Finally, keep in mind that each Google Sheet is limited to 10 million cells, which sounds like a lot but soon fills up. Anyway, you’ll find Sheets slows down considerably before reaching that limit. Most people report a slight slow down with tens of thousands of rows of data and complex formulas and models. Adding/removing multiple sheets, renaming themThat averages out to a 3. Ish. Not bad for a solo debut. And, if Brenna Thummler ever reads this, I'd like to remind her that both Trina Schart Hyman and Grace Lin (two of my all-time favorite illustrators) both started their careers with powerhouse visuals and weak storylines. I don’t read many graphic novels but this was such a good one. The illustrations were so cute and lovely and the whole story was very heartwarming and wholesome. Google Sheets was created with collaboration in mind and makes it easy to share worksheets, grant edit access, and collaborate in real-time. While Excel Online has come out with similar collaboration features, they don't run as smoothly compared to Google Sheets.

Not all of the “insights” are useful, and I don’t use this feature much myself yet, but it shows a glimpse of how we’ll all work with Sheets in the future. She does share a few concepts she uses as an economist that can help with decision making on the more nebulous, which I thought were fairly useful. It's good to be reminded that you can approach emotionally loaded decisions systematically. I liked her insistence that what *you* want to do as a parent is an important factor you should consider. Well of course, as with everything in spreadsheets, there are lots of ways, but let me show you the easiest, using the Text to Columns feature. That all being said, Thummler does a brilliant job in capturing high-school life and gives a painfully accurate view of bullying and the need to conform which is still so prevalent in modern society. Her artistry and use of colours is once again an absolute delight to behold and the use of the title throughout to refer to different aspects about our reality, our perceptions and our lives is also superb.Beautiful artwork that takes the cold-blue vibes from the first graphic novel in the series is accompanied with the absolutely realistic portrayal of how the pain of being bullied, being alone, being invisible is overwhelming when the kindness and empathy you expect isn't awarded. Perfect for every demographic, but especially for teens who need to be reminded that purposeful confinement in a box of acceptable personas shouldn't be demanded nor delivered in the name of belonging to a school's social circle — and a note of mental health. In the last section, Oster begins to sound like a broken record because she keeps repeating that there is no universally relevant data on such-and-such issue, so make the decision that works best for your family. I guess this might be helpful if you were convinced you had to do a certain approach for a reason other than it was what you thought was best for your family. Technically you’ve already written your first formula in the section above on math calculations, but really, your formula career begins when you start using the built-in functions (of which there are hundreds!).

4. How to use Google Sheets: Killer features

It’s a good bellwether for spreadsheet competency, even though there are ultimately better ways to work with data. It’s also a relatively advanced formula compared to what we’ve seen so far, so if you can understand it, it bodes well.
