Others that you can enjoy include passion fruit. You can find both alcohol and non-alcohol versions. If you plan to visit Sweden sometime soon, you’ll most certainly want to try at least one of the brands on this list. But even if you’re not able to do so, you’ll find the largest ones also available in several countries elsewhere. The cider has just a wonderful smooth taste, the nashi pear and passionfruit is a genius mix, sweet but not too sweet and it was just what I was looking for after a hard days work working tidying our section. I really liked that the cider wasn't over carbonated, which made it very drinkable. My wife simply adores Nashi Pears and enjoys a good passion fruit flavored item so I knew that this was a must try cider combination for the two of us. So far I haven't tried any cider in the Thomas and Rose brand and not liked it, all have been a hit in our household (even my mother in law gets to try some with us). I like the label design, it flows well and it makes it easy to spot on the shelf and recognize the brand. This is a small bottle but I was able to give both my wife, my mother in law and myself a serving of this lovely drink.

The company was founded in 2010, and it uses apples from Sweden’s northern regions to create the flagship product. One of its most unique products is the frozen cider, which goes particularly well on those bright summer days when the temperatures play fair. As a drink, this would be a hit with anyone at the family BBQ, and the only shame is that the kids won't get to try it. At least, one can hope not, because they will love it too, and not even notice the alcohol content until it was way, way too late for their little bodies. With that in mind, I wanted to experiment a little, so I poured about half a bottle into a saucepan and warmed it gently for a few minutes. I was able to smell the alcoholic components vaporising, and I was left with a non-alcoholic version. However, as much as that would be safe to give the kids, it also changed the flavours of the drink, making it a lot less desirable... so, that was a dud result. As you can see from this list, several companies have jumped on the Swedish cider bandwagon — all bring their own unique twists to what has become an exciting sector. You will find some of the best hard ciders in the world, plus some softer ones. Moreover, the varieties of cider flavors are endless.

In addition to apple, KarneCider also produces a pear version. So, if that’s something you’d rather go for, you will similarly find the drink in various Systembolaget outlets. Cirre Cirre Since it was founded, Fruktstereo has become a large cider producer in Sweden’s southern regions. Every year, the company makes more than 80,000 bottles of its drinks and distributes them in its main bar and throughout Systembolaget stores in Sweden.I have tried every flavour in the Thomas & Rose range so I was thrilled to see a new flavour being released. This is number 5 in the range, and comes in a 500 ml bottle. The bottle is made of brown glass which is generally better for the contents as it reduces the UV that can affect beverages. The label has a matt almost recycled feel to it and the beautiful watercolour splotch motif. The colours mixed on the label are perfect for representing Nashi Pear and Passionfruit. I'm a big fan of Thomas & Rose cider after trying a couple of their other blends and I was really excited to try their newest flavour combination as nashi pears are one of my favourite fruits. The bottle clearly states that it is an Apple cider with added Nashi pear and Passionfruit but I was not disappointed, this product is absolutely divine - crisp, sweet and refreshing, smooth and fruity with just the right amount of sparkle. I was pleasantly surprised as I'm not a big fan of passionfruit but Thomas & Rose have got their blend just right. Mora also has a Christmas cider, which consists of apples, cinnamon, and blueberries. You’ll find all of the drinks mentioned in Systembolaget. More Swedish cider brands than you imagined? I love fruit ciders and so far Thomas and Rose are yet to create a flavour combination I don't like. The fruity and refreshing nashi pear and passion fruit in this make it very pleasant and very easy to drink. I loved the combination and served chilled over ice this made a very refreshing drink that I could see myself drinking more if over the upcoming summer months. Following the success of its ciders, Kopparberg has diversified into numerous other alcohol genres. You’ll find gin created by the brand, in addition to vodka.

From mango and raspberry to watermelon and lime flavour, the new 99p Aldi range of summer tipples sounds super refreshing and are a REAL Aldi Specialbuy 🤤

Flavour inspiration

Swedish cider brands have become popular worldwide recently, with some of the largest companies making significant moves. The UK is one popular market, and the trend has even found its way to the United States. The brand initially had the idea of creating cider in the early phases of the 20th century, but — for multiple reasons — it didn’t really get off the ground. It's due to be a scorcher this weekend and we are so excited to get out in the sun for a picnic and sip on a few cold tipples.
