About this deal

This is a great story that has likeable characters and was nice easy reading. It has a lot of sadness and frustrations as we go through Sarah and Tommy's daily lives. Also betrayal and jealousies. So guys these types of books often carry some trauma and sexual assault is featured, not in graphic detail but it is mentioned and more than once so heads up. Classism, relationships, friendships, alcohol abuse, poverty and manipulation so there is never really a dull moment. Really could not put it down. Twists and turns but everyone knows families like this. Well done Kitty. Cannot wait for the next.’ Reader review

This was a great story from start to finish with lots of twists to the storyline, well written and nicely descriptive. The rest of the book is okay. That's what got it the 3.5 stars, the plot was ongoing and it showed how much of a bastard Robbie was and how much if a dumbass Dorothy was whenever it came to Robbie. I loved that at the end she saw him for who he was and managed to get her mind straight not only for herself but for the people around her too (RIP Yvonne). I also love love love the fact that Robbie got what he deserved. The main character- whose name I literally can’t remember- was such a plain, bland, female MC. She was totally reactive and hardly took any action. Kitty Neale doesn’t sugarcoat reality and I felt sad with Tommy’s destiny, moreover that he is such a compelling, sweet boy. I honestly detested this book. The writing is poor, the characters are flat and one dimensional. You don’t have the opportunity to get attached to any of the characters, and the decisions that they make don’t really make any sense in context.

From there she began to master the craft, fixing her punctuation and gaining a basic understanding of the publishing industry. Writing was just a distraction at that time, a means of burying her grief by getting immersed in imaginary worlds. The author does not know if she would have ever pursued her writing dreams if tragedy hadn’t come into her life. Kitty’s son was 27-years-old when he died. The occurrence nearly broke Kitty.Sarah lives with her Mother is the start of the book and is waiting for school to get out so she can run home as her Mom was in labor when she left for school. Her Mom is a abusive drunk and the last baby died right after birth. Sarah gets home just in time to deliver her brother she names Tommy.. Her Mom tells her get rid of him, not understanding at first what her Mom has said she begs for milk for Tommy at her best friends home.

Even as a child, Kitty had an incredible imagination. She was always telling her friends and family stories some of which were quite horrific; though, to her family, they were more of a source of amusement than a cause for concern.
