Description

You can get a good dunk without them falling apart and they’ve got oats in, so you can tell yourself that they are healthy.

These are lovely oaty biscuits but a little too sweet for me which is why I prefer the dark chocolate hobnobs.

It may not be reproduced in any way whatsoever without Wm Morrisons Supermarkets Limited prior consent, nor without due acknowledgement. A sturdy, oat base flavoured simply with golden syrup and held together with a coating of chocolate. Once I got stopped by security with 7 rolls of Hobs and chocolate covered Digestives in my carry on. These biscuits still contain sugar (from the maple syrup), fats and calories, but if you’re going to indulge in a sweet treat, it might as well be something delicious that’s free from cholesterol and contains good ingredients like oats and ground almonds and no other unnecessary additives and preservatives.

Next time (yes, definitely there will be a next time), I’ll add cinnamon and maybe other warm spices to the dough along with some salt and maybe even vanilla. When you’ve got a biscuit addiction, like me, the best thing that you can do is learn how to make your favourites yourself. Having my first attempt ending in the bin, I pulled myself back together and went for it a second time. Thank you 🙂 Hmm Hobnobs are an oat based cookies/biscuit, so it would be a completely different recipe if you replace the oats.

I have to say, I was incredibly tempted to make the soft-serve frozen yogurt (which uses egg whites to create the right texture…oooh) and the jam-packed doughnuts, too. This may affect nutrition and allergen information therefore you should always check product labels and not rely solely on the information presented here. Once dipped the chocolate melts and the biscuit doesn’t become utterly soggy – it retains some bite. Spoon a little bit of chocolate onto the top of each biscuit and use a palette knife, butter knife or the back of a spoon to spread it over the surface. But, remember that it’s just chocolate without butter or anything, so it does set pretty hard and a thick layer would be quite tough.
