As well as providing general information to fathers and families, the DadPad has been customised to include local Stoke-on-Trent support groups and services, along with links to the Stoke-on-Trent Community Directory which is regularly updated. Although we hope that this DadPad will help you and your family with some of the questions and problems that may arise over the coming weeks, always remember that, if you're unsure about anything to do with your baby’s health, you should contact your midwife, health visitor or GP. Cllr Dave Evans, cabinet member for children and young people said: “As a city council, our aim is to provide the best start in life for all children in the city and the DadPad can help with this. An exciting new parenting resource is being re-launched across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in 2016. We listened to what dads, their partners and professionals asked for and combined it all in this new ‘DadPad’.

Remember, too, that the health visitor service is not only for Mum, but for Dad as well, even if you're not all living together. It is designed to reduce your anxieties, create a strong bond and healthy attachment with your baby, build stronger family relationships and recognise when you or your partner might need to get help for your mental health. The DadPad® - An essential guide for new dads, supporting new families in working together for their babies. The guide has been developed with the NHS and gives dads the confidence, knowledge and practical skills they need to look after their new born baby. The Dad Pad - covering all the essential information dads told us they need to know and presented in a step-by-step, manual style so it’s easy to follow and understand. We strongly recommend taking appropriate action to ensure your safety when engaging with any of the organisations, groups, events or services listed.

There is also a resource for co-parents (LGBTQ+ non-birthing parents) being prepared by DadPad and available to new and expectant families in Stoke in early 2023.DadPad is designed to reduce anxiety in a number of ways, for example, by helping dads gain confidence by getting involved with their baby’s care, as well as learning how to create a strong bond and build stronger family relationships. Dadpad is also available in a hardcopy booklet versions, will shortly be available to support those who do not have access to DadPad digitally and will cover the main topics contained with the DadPad app. The DadPad app is an easy-to-use, freely downloadable resource for new dads and dads-to-be in the Derbyshire area, packed with relevant information, as well as details on local support groups and service providers. This will give you time to put your pack to good use and we’re sure you’ll have plenty to keep you busy before then!

The DadPad’s aim is to provide new fathers with guidance on how to develop the mindset, confidence and practical skills needed to meet their babies’ physical and emotional needs. There are also details of local support groups for new dads and sources of help available in Kent and Medway. From the start, the DadPad® has been working with mums, dads, Health Visitors, Midwives and Public Health Teams to provide the most relevant and accurate information available, and continues to do so. The DadPad gives you the knowledge and practical skills necessary to support you and your partner, so that your baby gets the best possible start in life. Please include what you were doing when this page occurred and the event ID found at the bottom of the page.

Outside of the service working hours, you’ll receive a message back to inform you that your text will be responded to once the service reopens.Crucially, the app also provides dads with guidance on how to support and seek help (when needed) for their partners and themselves as they adjust to their new roles, and cope with the physical and emotional strains that this can place on individuals and relationships. If your area doesn’t have a button, let us know and we’ll make contact with those who can make it happen! it provides information and support to new dads as they adjust to their role and provides guidance on how they can get the most out of this new experience.
