I don’t like the idea of having a rear side panel being held on by screws because I feel like it’ll eventually shatter. The thermal results using the Torrent Compact’s default fan layout (2x 180mm) produced overall respectable thermal numbers.

On the outside, there are line art drawings that represent the case inside along with product specifications. The big question was whether or not Fractal would succeed in retaining the unmistakeably handsome aesthetic of its 2021 original. The side panels on the Torrent Compact are held on via magnets that do a good job when your system is stationary. Compact’s 450mm x 222mm x 467mm dimensions are less obtrusive, and the 33 per cent reduction in overall volume is more in keeping with our expectation of a mid-tower solution.
