well I can't find 598 in here where I live they only have 599 and the sells person have told me they are all the same they differ only in looks, so I e-mailed Sennheiser asking them, which I am surprised how responsive and helpful the support of Sennheiser is! It also depends on your source material, because this curve works just fine with some genres like electropop or new wave.

Sennheiser HD 599 Open Back Headphone - Reviews Sennheiser HD 599 Open Back Headphone - Reviews

Though nobody can blame you for inferring a similarity through Sennheiser’s naming scheme, the HD 6XX, unlike the HD 599, is meant for critical listening. I’m just learning about how to drive headphones I understand these will give me perfectly acceptable sound on their own. Like the Sennheiser, the Philips Fidelio X3 possesses the same limitations of open-back designs, including virtually zero isolation.and I guess it's kinda true because even though the 598CS definitely sounds pretty good and they're very clear and spacious for closed back headphones these are on a whole other level, the sound is much smoother and complete. The soundstage on the HD 599 sports some decent placement, but lacks the kind of depth we’ve seen with the HD 600. It’s unusual to find a set of open-back headphones with bass exaggeration, as those frequencies tend to get lost with open-back designs. I always thought of getting one 580, but when I found out the similarities it has with the 600, I gave it a pass. You have to listen harder for the specific nit-picky detail and it's there but more recessed, but in a good way where they're in the background.

Sennheiser HD599 Headphones - Audio Sanctuary

All of this, in combination with the heat-regulating open-back design, means you can wear the Sennheiser HD 599 for hours at a time even in summer. But if I go with the 660, so far they have indicated low output resistance amplifiers so I think the A20 would not fit, but the lake people G103. The issues I fell into was mainly about that mid-bass boost that gives specific instruments a resonsant, boxy sound that can cause you to make bad decisions when tracking and editing. Very good for RapCaviar and other modern rap songs, may get in the way for songs using acoustics but you can EQ that down and problem solved.

It is not objectively the most accurate, or the most consumer-focused set of cans, but it has a specific high bass and midrange emphasis that can appeal to some people looking for that sound quality. The HD599 – according to Sennheiser – lets the listener enjoy their choice of home entertainment with exceptional wearing comfort assured, thanks to the large ear cups and soft, replaceable ear pads. Finally, the Sennheiser HD 6XX may need a headphone amp to really access its potential, while the HD 599 does not. Mids and low mids in particular are very forward, always making the song louder than it should be, and the main voice/instruments are very in your face, potentially masking micro details.

I got the HD580 after a rave review in Stereophile, but lost interest after awhile because it was too distant. Also HE4XX that i currently use doesn't have much bass by default, but with some EQ they have it more than enough and its really nice and realistic bass, the sub bass is pretty good ( sounds like my subwoofer, while the 598 for example is artificial af and has pretty much zero sub bass ), but to get the good bass on planars u need good AMP, since its like +12dB ( -12dB preamp ) on low end to compensate the volume. For reference, this comparison is against the KZ ZSN Pro X, which has more volume above 10kHz and follows our ideal closely through the mids and bass. They sounded great but not the best suit for me, they were a little bit piercing and couldn't listen to them for more than 15 minutes. It channels audio directly to the listeners’ ears to create a better acoustic experience for the listener. In everyday terms, the HD 599 excels at casual music and media consumption, while supplying a comfortable fit. We made our durability test for wireless headphones more rigorous from May 2018, so the star ratings for wireless headphones from then onwards aren't comparable to wireless headphones tested before. Even with no burn in whatsoever I can't find any complaint, these just sound smooth and comfortable, with the right amount of bass compared to the older ones and unlike the 598CS the mids are not aggressive and fatiguing. If this is your first audiophile headphone, it's way better than any Sony/Beats bass, but nothing really special.

My guess is they tweaked 599 to have similar or like MRK1 said even better joyful signature 598Cs, but in an open design. As we can see from these specifications, the HD 599 packs an impressive frequency range with ample highs and lows. The H599 is a headphone you can perfectly use for watching movies and for listening to music to, it’s a great all-rounder. It is a good headphone for new people joining this hobby, since it work good for music, movies, TV Shows and games.
