Considering the primary purpose of dashcams is to offer legal protection on the roads, not being able to pick out the license plate number of the crazed lorry driver who’s been chasing you down the motorway kind of defeats the purpose (yes, that’s an extreme example, but you get the gist). The Nextbase 112’s only real additional feature is the G-Sensor impact detection system (honestly, if even a device this cheap comes with a G-Sensor, it hardly even qualifies as an ‘extra’, but we won’t nitpick any further). Couldn't find it, but used the "Chat" facility, and it was very helpful in providing the part no I required.

Regarding the recording lengths, the camera will record continuously in small segments (1,2, or 3 minutes). In the past, a touch screen panel has been something reserved for top of the range models such as the 612GW. However, the built-in battery is only rated for 30 minutes, and although the unit isn’t recording all the time, it won’t last a very long time in this mode.The menu is far from extensive, and you’ll likely get to grips with everything it has to offer very quickly. If the battery lasts for less than 3 minutes, the battery may have reached the end of it's lifespan.
