There are a few special Mod Podge formulas that don’t do the gluing, but they act as special finishes and are complimentary to all of the decoupage products above. What I’ve discovered is that the smoother the surface, the more difficult it is to get Mod Podge to stick (there’s probably a coating on the leather, as there is with patent). If you are applying decoupage or Mod Podge to a painted or stained surface like furniture, the paint may rub off and into the Mod Podge. I still don’t recommend using it on candles unless it is 1) for decorative purposes only or 2) it’s on the outside of glass and the candle is burning inside.

String the button onto the cord so the cord goes through the backside of the button and down through the front. You can always paint Mod Podge on a piece of scrap paper and spray paint with the exact spray paint you’ll be using first to be sure . If you are trying to protect old documents or your artwork from normal wear and tear it will work great. If you want to go ahead and use photos, just make sure to use a lot of Mod Podge, because it takes more than normal.I work on pages from current magazines that have a gloss and that I can just tear out and throw away. Icovered them in several layers of Mod Podge then waited for it to dry then sprayed it with the acrylic sealer, will that be enough? If you find that your Mod Podged item is still tacky even after drying, just use a clear acrylic spray or brush-on sealer on top. And it peeled after putting 3 layers I went to look at it and it peeled ALL of my art off I am VERY DISAPPOINTED About it.

And do it several times – you’d rather have several thicker layers of Mod Podge to protect the inkjet image from the DM. Chalk paint projects are all the rage so now instead of having to use a separate paint, just use this. A:This is an interesting question that we got in the “ Getting Crafty with Mod Podge” group on Facebook. I have also used it to “seal” the graphics on boxes and to protect areas that could receive a lot of use. Putting a thick layer of this on will make you look like you have applied resin to product (without all the harsh chemicals or the having to open a window bits). I try to be careful when placing my ephemera since I always use vintage or tissue paper and that does not pull up easily once it is sticking on the piece of art. These people like their projects to be archival, and that means they want their glues to be as well. You’ll need to test the surface though as Mod Podge doesn’t stick to all plastics (see the next question).

You don’t need to use a new one each time as long as you wash the brushes out thoroughly before anything dries. This is regular Mod Podge, and can do everything that regular Mod Podge can do, but it’s TINTED in colors! Yes, I got my undergraduate degree in Forest Conservation from University of Washington in the late 90s.

You can try soaking it in hot water to see if you can salvage it, but you’ll likely have to throw it away. This epoxy-like formula creates a faux glass-like effect that dries clear with a 3D domed shape allowing the surface color to show through. It sounds like a lot of steps, but it’s not that difficult – you just have to make sure it all dries.A:So what I would do is use a hair dryer or heat gun between Mod Podge layers (just the regular Mod Podge, not the acrylic). The key is using enough Mod Podge during application, and allowing the Mod Podge to dry long enough between layers.
