Or, get creative with your favorite classic games; learn how to re-purpose them into drinking games. We still have the original game with a set of cards that have extra "notes" from when I was little to help explain some of the categories, like character traits!

Balderdash and Quibbler are two games I've always been intrigued by but have never actually played :') Perhaps lockdown is the best time to get started with that :') My family have been reaching for Monopoly over Scrabble during this time, but maybe I can turn the tables haha! When the chosen actor receives his/her Charades card, the word or phrase must be acted out or pantomimed. Two to four people can participate, and this word creation game is perfect for spelling and vocabulary building. To ensure that there is complete fairness, 2 to 3 minutes is allowed for the actor to act out the word and for the team to guess the correct answer.

Guesstures is charades, except with a timer that swallows the card if players cannot correctly guess the answer.

Holding the number on the opposite inside elbow denotes the number of syllables in a particular word. We had Hungry Hippos, Pictionary, Operation, Battleship, and of course, card games like Uno and Old Maid. It is easiest if you are playing from an actual Charades game set, as you can simply divide the cards equally between the two teams.

The acted form of charades has been repeatedly made into television game shows, including the American Play the Game, Movietown, RSVP, Pantomime Quiz, Stump the Stars, Celebrity Charades, Showoffs and Body Language; the British Give Us a Clue; the Canadian Party Game and Acting Crazy; and the Australian Celebrity Game. In India, thumbs up means English language, thumbs down is Hindi, thumb in horizontal position is a state language like Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, etc.Divide up your group into even teams; the goal in Monikers is for teams to work together to guess as many statements based on the descriptions of the cards written on cards as possible. I always made my parents play Scattegories when I was growing up even though I'm pretty sure they hated it haha! Played similar to charades as players work in teams of 2 to work out the phrase without speaking to one another. It is a good idea to choose people for your team that you communicate well with, as you will have a bit more insight into how they communicate.
