I guess it’s not what am I doing wrong. It’s what am I doing right- in as much as the expected fiddling with grind, tamping, quantity, etc seems unnecessary. I’m one of those who, if I can’t go too far (to cause brewing problems), I’m afraid I haven’t gone far enough (to get the best quality). Should I be grateful, let well enough alone? Or depressurize to see what happens, try an even finer grind, or….? For the Nanopresso, the ideal grind size is a small fine grind. Look for a size similar to table salt but slightly more refined. Once your grounds are ready, weigh out 8 grams for brewing with your Nanopresso.

Continue to disassemble your Nanopresso. Twist off the water tank and set it to the side with the portafilter head. Leave the pump in the extended pumping position. Brew Espresso Anywhere - Completely portable so you can take your beloved espresso wherever you go.

GET THE BEST FROM IT

Wacaco has done everything they could to make brewing – whether it’s espresso or coffee – as easy as it gets. One look at the Nanopresso, Minipresso, Picopresso, Cuppamoka, and Pipamoka, and that’s clear. To use the Nanopresso, you simply fill the filter basket with coffee grounds and the bottom chamber with hot water. Assemble the coffee maker, start pumping, and in no time at all, you'll have a very satisfying espresso, even with crema thanks to the Nanopresso's max pressure output of 18 bars. If you're looking for a way to enjoy an espresso while travelling or spending time outdoors, we'd highly recommend the Nanopresso! Pressurized head – The Nanopresso has a pressured head which helps to improve the extraction process and helps with consistency, so you have the same tasting coffee on each try. Even if a less finely ground coffee is used, the head helps to brew it without needing to learn the subtleties of espresso brewing. It can also be used as an authentic espresso machine, even if the auto pressure is turned off. before taking it on the road with you, spend some time familiarizing yourself with the machinery and tweaking the temperature of the water so you know what you'll be getting on the road. I'll admit to holding it upside down the first time I tried to extract an espresso - I blame not having my coffee in my bloodstream yet, lol XD. Ideal temperature for extraction is between 197-205* F, but I found that some heat gets lost in the transfer to the water filter, so I almost let my water get to a rolling boil before brewing. The brewing process is friendly to espresso newcomers and veterans alike. Simply press the pumping knob a few times and you’ll generate up to 18 bars of pressure - enough pressure to rival expensive commercial machines.

To repressurize your Nanopresso, you will need to run hot water through it. To do that, add hot water to the water tank and attach it onto the body of your Nanopresso. Do not attach the portafilter or head to the Nanopresso. Instead, turn your Nanopresso over and start pumping to run the hot water through the gasket. Do this over a wide mouth mug or bowl to catch the hot water. Weight – The Nanopresso is only 0.74lbs, so you can easily take it with you on your travels. It is also made of strong and sturdy material, so you don’t need to worry about breaking it. Water storage – The water tank of a Nanopresso can hold up to 2.70oz of water. Because boiling water is added into the device to make the coffee, there is a chance of it burning your hand. To protect against this, the water tank and cup are both covered with a heatsink pattern so that it absorbs the heat rapidly. If your Nanopresso isn’t extracting in a beautiful, singular stream through the portafilter nozzle, there may be a few things wrong. This could range from the portafilter head not being screwed on tight enough to the wrong number of grounds in the coffee basket.

Built around a patented pumping system, the Nanopresso is capable of reaching, with the help of your hands, a maximum of 18 bars (261 PSI) of stable pressure during extraction for unparalleled coffee quality. It is more than what most home espresso machines can deliver. Anyone who has owned an automatic home espresso machine knows the pressure quality can deteriorate dramatically overtime; making your espresso taste watery and weak. Cleaning up after pulling a shot is easier than ever with the redesigned portafilter - it only takes a few seconds! An EVA material travel case keeps the Nanopresso safe, even on the most difficult journeys. NanoPresso Review

The timing of this question is perfect and I might be able to help you out here regarding your issue. So, my advice is to take a look at the small orange cross on the underside (while it’s under the tap) and make sure that it’s moving during pumping, if it is, just keep pumping the water through and hopefully your unit will flush whatever is in there though. This makes it much easier to apply pressure while holding the entire canister in place over your mug. If you brew with water between the 195°F to 205°F range, this is the ideal temperature for water-soluble flavor compounds to most easily dissolve in water.

Pre-heating your Nanopresso helps warm the body of the brewer up so that your extraction is clean and smooth. When it’s time for the extraction, the ideal water temperature should be close to boiling, or about 195°F. Ease of use – The Minipresso is very versatile and easy to use. It has an innovative design allowing it to be the best travel companion without any fuss. The shots from the Picopresso taste (I must say) surprisingly great. They’re remarkably smooth and rich with a good amount of texture. The standout feature is that it has an actual espresso basket inside, which can be used “bottomless,” meaning that your shots will look like they came out of a proper espresso machine in a hipster coffee shop.
