Description

A one way mirror film can give glass the capability to act as a one way mirror, but it is the surrounding lighting conditions that actually dictate whether the mirror effect occurs, and the strength of the mirror. Window films offer great versatility with a wide range of options to choose from. One of our popular choices is the static cling reflective mirror film, which is perfect for temporary use, such as in rented accommodations or during the hottest season. This film does not require adhesive and can be easily applied in just minutes. What's even better is that it can be removed in seconds and safely stored for future use. The Mirror Silver One Way Film, is designed to be permanent so will be very durable long term and is easy to maintain and clean, should you decide to remove the product, it can be removed, with either a steamer or scrapper.

However, one way mirror film can be controlled to some extent, by artificially adjusting the lighting conditions either side of the mirror. Obviously we are at the mercy of the sun for external windows, but internal panes offer more control. As long as one side is darker than the other, by the correct amount, the mirror will be apparent. The Omg 10 model epitomises the 10% VLT category, characterised by its remarkable light reduction capability. By allowing a mere 10% light transmission, it effectively diminishes 90% of incoming sunlight. Such a profound effect is seldom sought, with consumers opting for it primarily to achieve the zenith of the mirror reflection. As shown in the images above, one way mirror film works in the exact same way, but further enhances the one way mirror effect.

Essential Knowledge about mirrored films for glass

Silver reflective mirror window film is a thin and sleek material that can be easily applied to smooth, non-textured flat glass surfaces such as windows, doors, or conservatory roofs. With its tinted and mirror-like finish, this film offers excellent efficiency in controlling heat and sunlight, making your home or office more comfortable during hot and sunny days. Additionally, it provides protection against fading for your artworks and furnishings.

It is imperative to understand that even superior quality internal mirror films, when installed on certain glazing units, may cause minor heat accumulation, inherent to the nature of mirrored tinting. For those apprehensive about this characteristic, it is advisable to choose the external mirror window films denoted with the 'EX' index. Ideal for those seeking the mirror aesthetic along with sunlight and heat reduction, without overly darkening a room. These are typically used for smaller windows, with dimensions like 1.6m in height and 90cm in width. Our recommended models are: Dual Reflective Films, such as ARC DRE05, are “mirrored” one side, and neutral on the other. These films are effectively the same as the above film, with an additional “tint” on the internal surface. Not only does this make the internal surface less reflective, the one way mirror effect is also activated with a lower light ratio of just 1:3.

Offering Premium Mirror Window Tints

There is no way around this – as it is the lighting which dictates the strength of the mirror and the direction it works in.

Thermal Regulation: Effective in shielding against excessive heat. See details in the solar window film section. With our selection of window films, you have the flexibility to choose the right option that fits your specific needs and preferences. Whether you're looking for a temporary solution or a more permanent heat-reducing film, we have you covered. Glass compatibilityIf you find that your conservatory becomes uncomfortably hot during the summer, applying a reflective film to the side windows and roof can provide effective heat control. For the side windows, you have the option of using tinted window film, which allows for a clear view both inside and outside the conservatory. As for the roof, a reflective film is recommended to maximize heat reduction. Additionally, we offer specific reflective films designed specifically for polycarbonate roofs, ensuring optimal performance and compatibility. Practical window films The greater the light difference, the stronger the mirror effect will be. When the ratio is smaller (similar light levels on both sides) we get ghosting, whereby it partially works both sides. With one way mirror film we only need a 1:4 ratio of visible light for the effect to work, which means that it “activates” much sooner than untreated glass. UV light is known to be one of the main culprits behind the deterioration of various materials. By minimizing the penetration of harmful UV rays, our mirror films act as a shield, preserving the vibrant colors and integrity of your cherished belongings. Whether it's preventing upholstery from losing its vibrancy or preserving the quality of your treasured photographs, our films provide a reliable solution to protect your investments.
