In the book, items appear to jump away to avoid collision. In the film, the bus just swerves around or squeezes past (or through) obstacles, and in terms of the latter, the driver is shown throwing a switch that causes the bus to contract. The bus also becomes invisible within the distance, materialising when called, and vanishing when leaving. Eight years have passed since 4866 The Knight Bus was released during 2011 and this brilliant model represents a considerable improvement over past versions. The vehicle measures 16cm in both length and height so its proportions seem more accurate when compared with the movie and the shape of the bus is almost perfect, due primarily to the shallower angle of its front windows above the cab. The bus may have something similar to a powerful Imperturbable Charm upon it as objects appear to get out of its way. An illustration of the Knight Bus was chosen for the cover art of the fully illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

I am equally satisfied with Ernie Prang, whose invariably alarmed facial expression looks marvellous. The white facial hair and round glasses both appear faithful to the source material and his olive green cardigan is brilliant too. Its intricate patterning looks particularly impressive and I like the muted colour scheme, faithfully replicating Ernie's onscreen clothing. Finally, the Knight Bus was first commissioned in 1865. [2] Since Apparition would be a faster and more practical way of transportation, the Knight Bus may be used for those who cannot use Apparition or Portkeys, or those who are underage, and therefore need the bus, and may even be accessible to Squibs. Nevertheless, it appears nicely detailed and opens to place a minifigure inside which is fun. In a International trailer for the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry says to Stanley Shunpike while riding the Knight Bus: "Isn't this a bit dangerous?" to which Stan replies: "No. We haven't had an accident in about a week." These lines were cut from the final version of the film.

However, the new double-sided head undoubtedly captures some emotion and I like the textured hair piece. This component was designed to replicate Harry's hair style from the earliest movies but works here in my opinion, even though a specialised part would have been preferable. The figure includes a dark brown wand and a trunk which contains a letter, a chocolate bar and a trans-yellow potion.
