Perfectly level horizon. Do a barrel roll! GO 3 doesn't mind. Unbeatable levelling technology means your video stays upright no matter what! A tiny cam means easy mounting! With its magnetic design and accessories, GO 3 gives you endless creative possibilities, with angles no other camera can handle. Think pets, helmets, or a fly-on-the-wall shot! There are two elements to talk about when it comes to the Insta360 Go 3's design, the core camera and the Action Pod.

I also liked the natural quality to outdoor, stabilized footage. As you can see from the walking sample below, FreeFrame mode held things together well in bright environments, irrespective of the final framing. Without the Pod, the Go 3 is as basic as it gets. The camera module has a single button that, by default, starts a recording. You can swap its default capture mode via the camera menu (accessible via the Action Pod's screen) or require a double press to minimize accidental recordings. A red tally lamp on the Go 3 flashes when it's rolling footage.By itself, the Go 3 camera has an IPX8 waterproof rating, which means you can use it for snorkeling or swimming at depths of up to 16 feet (5 meters). The IPX4-rated Action Pod housing is fine to use in the rain but isn't submersible. It measures 1.9 by 2.5 by 1.2 inches and weighs 3.4 ounces. Control your Insta360 GO 3 hands-free, easy to set up and forget about it. Allowing you to capture ultra-wide POV shots and video in fantastic 2.7k. The GO 3 features voice control 2.0 letting you record instantly with a single command and stay fully hands-free. FreeForm video is also worth a mention. It requires you to put together clips in the Insta360 app but captures the full circular view of the lens, not a rectangular frame. This gives you the flexibility to pull out a 1440p frame at 16:9, 9:16, or 1:1 ratios for different social platforms. Running every FreeForm clip through an editing process is inconvenient, but creators who need to deliver clips for both widescreen and vertical devices might still find it worthwhile. The Insta360 Go 3 is an ingenious camera. It’s well made and easy to use, and the design is impressively versatile. Image quality is pretty good, too and it’s stuffed with clever shooting modes. The Insta360 GO 3 shoots in UltraWide (for selfie vlogs), ActionView (for bike rides and in-vehicle), Linear (for all-around scenarios), and Narrow (close-ups) in a plethora of video modes: Video, Freeframe Video, Timelapse, TimeShift (hyperlapse) and a Slow Motion mode (1440p at 120 fps). Also on board are Pre-recording, Loop Recording, and Timed Capture. The latter – an auto-start at a scheduled time – will be handy for those wanting to shoot a sunrise while they stay in bed.

This GO 3 has a 64GB capacity of storage space. Which mobile devices are compatible with the Insta360 GO 3? iOS Devices: Another difference between the ways you can expect to use the Go 3 and its ActionPod comes in the form of water resistance. While the Go 3 is waterproof up to 5m, the Action Pod is only splash-proof, so can't be submerged. A magnetic design and accessories allow you to mount the GO 3 anywhere, providing you with a multitude of creative possibilities. Including but not limited to pets, helmets and fly-on-the-wall shots. When shooting in FreeFrame mode, there isn't scope to adjust the degree of stabilization – that's managed post-capture – but in standard video mode, you can choose between three levels or turn it off. This tough aluminium flight case has a well-padded interior allowing your Insta360 GO 3 to fit snuggly into the case, providing additional protection to your action camera when you’re on the move.

Insta360's FreeFrame feature is also a lot of fun, and perfect for less experienced shooters. It lets you capture photos and videos, and then reframe your shot easily within the app. While it only appears to capture 16:9 footage, the Go 3 actually shoots a more square frame, so you can losslessly switch between 16:9, 19:6, and 1:1. Video recorded in low light situations can look good, too, but you’ll need to be much more careful how you hold the camera. I found the image stabilisation struggled to maintain smoothness without introducing shimmering artefacts into clips, even when I was indulging in relatively gentle activities. This extendable desktop tripod provides you with a level platform to attach your Insta360 GO 3 to, ideal for providing a few extra inches of height, perfect for hands-free shooting. The legs can be extended from 8.7 -16.7 cm and have been designed with anti-slip rubber foot pads. Before I even cover image quality, I have to commend Insta360 for making a wireless controller that works so reliably. Having the small Action Pod to hand and seeing what the Go 3 was recording, even when it was out of eyeshot, was incredibly liberating. Yes, wireless control has been available via the smartphone app for a while, but the Action Pod's compact size made it feel much less clunky than navigating the Insta360 app when filming. A magnetic design and accessories allow you to mount the GO 3 anywhere, providing you with a multitude of creative possibilities, including but not limited to pets, helmets and fly-on-the-wall shots.

The Action Pod features a touch screen with a flip-over design so you can set up shots from behind or in front of the lens. It also cleverly works as a remote control for the Go 3 when it is detached and can show a live view from it. The GO 3 has been designed with a large battery, letting you shoot for up to 50% longer than the previous GO 2. The Go 3 now has 45 minutes of run time on its own or 173 minutes of run time when paired with the Action Pod. No hands Camera. Go completely hands-free! Simply set it and forget about it for easy, ultra-wide POV shots in 2.7K.The Action Pod's touch controls were also intuitive, borrowing the menu system from other Insta360 action cameras and tuning it to the Go 3's capabilities. Within the settings, I was able to do things on the touch display that I couldn't do in the smartphone app, such as turn off the LED light on the front of the camera and mute the beeping noise. Yes, the Insta360 GO 3 can record video in fantastic 2.7k. How much memory does the Insta360 GO 3 have? The GO 3 has been designed with a large battery, letting you shoot for up to 60% longer than the previous GO 2. With 45 minutes of run time on its own or 173 minutes of run time when paired with the Action Pod. Submit a valuation request and we'll provide guide prices with no delay. Plus, we'll collect your gear from your home or work for FREE. Video caps out at 2.7K, while the highest resolution photos are 1:1 aspect ratio, 2560 x 2560 stills. For 4K filmmakers who want to splice action camera footage into their masterpieces, these low resolutions won't fit the bill. For casual action adventurers and family photographers and vloggers, though, the Insta360 Go 3 could be a perfect tool.
