Description

Throughout the game, players are typically just looking for ways to get to their next character. There isn’t a lot of trying to mess up other player’s paths mainly because no one knows where the other players are trying to get to. The aim of the game is to be the first player to visit all the characters within the labyrinth displayed on their picture cards and then return to their starting square. Sounds easy right!? Not when you consider the labyrinth changes shape! With each player’s turn, your pesky opponents will do their best to make reaching your characters as difficult as possible! So when I had the chance to get a copy in a trade at SaltCon this year, I was happy to end up with a copy of the game for our family.

He would tear them all to shreds, and he has the power and motivation to do so-the hat was right, he did make a good Slytherin. Series Player’s must choose each turn, whether to insert the spare maze tile to their advantage, or to disadvantage of one of their components. This choice can be very difficult! Player’s will not know which of the characters their opponents are trying to reach! In total the game set up takes 5 minutes to complete. Players new to Harry Potter Labyrinth should be able to get started within 10 minutes of opening the box. Prepare to be aMAZEd. On a player’s turn, they take the single, free corridor tile and choose a moveable row or column to place it in (depicted by arrows on the side of the board). They slide the tile into that row or column and it will shift everything in that line and push a tile off the other side of the board. Slide a tile into a row or column to shift all corridors. The game board is a 7 x 7 grid of corridor tiles. 16 of those tiles are permanently placed as part of the game board. The rest are shuffled face down at the start of the game and then placed randomly to fill the rest of the board. One corridor tile will remain off the board. The board has 16 permanent corridor tiles in place.

How does Harry Potter Labyrinth score on our “Let’s Play Again” game meter?

Those are some great forwarding-thinking skills for them to develop. Looking over options for shifting corridors at the start of the game. Each game varies in length but usually an entire game would be completed within 30 – 45 minutes, depending on how strategic players are in their game play. aMAZEd? The strategic choices players can make during the game play and the randomisation of the labyrinth at the start of the game, mean no two games will ever be the same, so the replayability of this game is huge. Harry Potter Labyrinth scores well on our “let’s play again” game meter and we know it would score even higher if our kids were younger. With each turn completed, the shape of the labyrinth changes. Players can find their chosen route, may now no longer be available to them, or even the maze tile they were trying to each is no longer on the game board and will have changed position completely, when the next player reinserts it into the game board on their turn!

For many years we’ve heard of a great introductory family board game called, Labyrinth. It was first published in 1986 and has spawned a line of Labyrinth games. A moment of desperation and a decision based on unconditional love has placed the power of the Wizarding World in the hands of the Goblin King. A king whose subjects are seen as second class citizens even while they manage the wealth of the wizards. How will this one decision, this one offer, change the Wizarding World and the looming war against Voldemort? Language: English Words: 41,069 Chapters: 31/?
