KEEP IT UNDER 21 TO STAY ALIVE: players have to keep the running total under 21 to stay in the game. If they go over, they flip an Alive card. Lose five lives and you're out On the other end of the spectrum, the Pass Me By card is pointless. It serves the same purpose as a 0 but can’t be used to counteract a bomb. The card is pretty much only useful to avoid losing a card when the total is 21. In addition the cards that set the score to 21, 10, or 0 points also don’t seem to serve much of a purpose in the game. The 21 card could have been useful to take an “A-L-I-V-E” card away from another player but as I mentioned earlier there are too many “wild” cards and 0’s that it is very hard not to have a card to play when the total reaches 21. They're based in convenient locations including supermarkets, newsagents and train stations. Plus they're often open late and on Sundays. On your turn you will play one of the cards from your hand to the discard pile. Depending on what card you play, you will take a corresponding action. KEEP IT UNDER 21 TO STAY ALIVE: Players have to keep the running total under 21 to stay in the game. If they go over, they flip an Alive card. Lose five lives and you're out

All of the players, other than the player who played the card, have to take one card from the draw pile. Draw 2 If the only cards in your hand are number cards that will put the running total over 21, do not play a card on your turn. You will turn over one of your Alive cards to the other side. The running total then resets to zero. The current total is 21. As this player only has number cards in their hand, they have no cards that they could play that would keep the total at 21 or lower. Instead of playing a card, this player will flip over one of their Alive cards. Shuffle the rest of the cards. Deal ten cards face down to each player. Players can look at their own cards, but shouldn’t show them to the other players. FUN FAMILY CARD GAME: The game is easy to learn and fun for just about everyone! It's a great indoor activity for 2-6 players and makes a great travel game for kids ages 8 and upEvery number card that is played will add to the total. When playing number cards you don’t want the total to go past 21. The second player has played a four to the discard pile. The running total is now nine. WILD CARDS: The twist is in the wild cards! Players can play them to save their life, or zap their opponents' life

The objective of 5 Alive is to be the last player with at least one Alive card remaining face up on the table. Setup for 5 AliveDo what it takes to survive, play Wild cards that change the game they can save a player's life or zap an opponent's, if a player loses 5 lives they're out. Get ready for an unpredictable, fast-paced, family-friendly card game that's fun for kids, teens, adults, grandparents…just about everybody! When a player turns over their fifth Alive card, they are immediately eliminated from the game. This player has lost all five of their Alive cards. They have been eliminated from the game. Winning 5 Alive The 5 Alive card game is easy to learn, players play numbered cards to a running total of 21 but can't go over if they do, they lose a life! Each team only uses one set of five Alive cards. Each player gets their own set of ten cards for their hand though.

The player who played the card gathers all of the cards from all of the players’ hands. They will shuffle the cards they gathered including the cards they held in their own hand. The cards are then dealt out to the players starting with the player to the left of the player who played the card. Reset the running total to 0. Play will then continue normally. If this was the last card in the player’s hand, the round ends and the rest of the players have to turn over one of their Alive cards. Bomb Here is a breakdown of all of the cards in 5 Alive. If the card doesn’t specifically mention changing the current running total, the card does not affect the running total. The pictures below show the cards from both the 1994 and 2021 versions of the game. The card on the left is the 1994 version of the card. The card on the right is the 2021 version. Number Cards

When the first player flips over their fifth Alive card, the game ends. The remaining players count how many of their Alive cards they haven’t flipped over. The player with the most Alive cards that haven’t been flipped over, wins the game. Having 5 lives to win means it's anyone's game you never know who will be the last player standing, change things up with the alternate sudden death version for an even faster game, or play in teams.

If you play a number card, you will add the number printed on the card to the running total. To start the round the total will start at zero. The first player has played a five to the discard pile. They will announce that the running total is now five.Toysrus.ca & Babiesrus.ca base "Our Suggested Age" ranges on these manufacturer recommendations, as well as considering which ages will enjoy the product. Such factors as a child's developmental skill set and toy popularity help determine the enjoyment levels of a product. Alive is actually quite a bit like the game Boom-O. Since 5 Alive was actually created before Boom-O, I actually see Boom-O as a reimplementation of 5 Alive. The two games have a couple different special cards, the players only get three lives in Boom-O instead of the five in 5 Alive, and instead of counting to 21 in Boom-O you are counting to 60 seconds. Otherwise the games are very similar. Items that are not available in store will take 3-5 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays) to be delivered to your nominated store. FUN CARD GAME FOR THE FAMILY: get ready for a super-fun, fast-paced and unpredictable card game. Break out the game at parties, for fast fun on weeknights, and game night with the family
