Soapy and classy, Caleche is the epitome of the high-end super lux soap. Florals, moss, and fizzy aldehydes stir in a vintage kind of clean direction. This soap comes with the goodness of aloe vera that ensures a satin-soft skin. It has 10x butter for luxurious skin with deep nourishment. It has 70% TFM. Ivoire de Balmain is a particularly nice choice for soapy as it does have that indescribable high-note soap quality in its chemistry, attributed to both aldehydes and clean musks. There are newer fragrances that evoke that ambiance as well, such as Chloe Love, Chloe Eau Florale, and Chloe Eau de Toilette (2015). Part of their popularity is attributed to their proclaiming their cleanliness next to godliness and good manners. This is a perfect soap for babies which comes with a mild fragrance and the goodness of vitamin E. It maintains the moisture in the skin of kids. The skin is gently cleaned by the formation of a rich, creamy lather. Its TFM content is 78%. A Hungarian online campaign called The Code of Seduction (in Hungarian: A Csábitás Kódja) invites people to fill out a test which tells them which scent will fit their personality and mood the best.

I love soapy scents! One of the great powers of fragrance is to transport us to the period of childhood when smells were becoming strong sensory memories and soaps of all kinds were signals of my childhood--laundry detergent and starch, bath soap, shampoo, tiny scented soaps my mother would put out only for guests--all profoundly connected to experiences.

Powdery notes always are perceived as very strong to my nose, so I would like to recommend going easy on the sprayer for this one; too much of this powder bomb could become suffocating and would take away some pleasure from the experience. In the right dose, though, you'll feel clean, relaxed, and blissfully happy. The TFM of this soap is 79%. It is a product of Godrej that is quite nominal. Your skin won’t dry out or become oily after using it, hence, no matter what your skin type is you can use it. It is even dermatologically tested use in case of skin issues like allergies,. rashes and others. Soapy feel is what I love in my fragrances. My best (banana Scented) soap bar was Sicily before I run out of it. There are two types of soaps according to the Bureau of Indian Standards, which is mentioned below: 1. Toilet Soaps: Always great to read about experiences from other 'noses'. Thanks for sharing. My favorite perfumes with a soap(y) whaft, are:

I love the smells associated with soap - they're comforting and invigorating at the same time. I'm reminded of the sage advice from comedy actress Amy Sedaris in her book "I Like You" when she reminds us that you take a bath to relax and a shower to wake up. But what's great about that thought is that both involve soap, so when you're trying to figure out what's best for your mind and body, the smell of soap is a win. And at the same time, a particularly soapy fragrance just entered the market at the close of 2020 / beginning of 2021 that has changed our idea of soapiness, Replica's Bubble Bath. A total dislike in the soapy category goes to Libre which is a clone of the older By of D&G. Way too loud and on the harsh, lavender side of soaps. It's immediate recoil for me because they remind of cheap drug store soap bar. They smell dated and screetchy - lavender never was a classy smell either. I never liked the harshness of Marseille or the perfumy loud notes in soap bar: it spoke to me of times when we had no other way of smelling clean, or "pretty". Once upon a time, this was my favorite genre in fragrances: soapy and clean with a fluffy cloud of white musk. Or the crunchy fruitiness of shampoo-like scents. If this would be for a Best in Show article of 10 years ago, I probably would have been writing about Ralph by Ralph Lauren, not Romance! For many years, Camay was a major sponsor of the soap operas As the World Turns and Search for Tomorrow. Musk can smell especially soapy when paired with citrus and rose because this was precisely the smell of soap decades ago, in the classic feminine soaps Camay and Lux. Masculine soaps often brought garlands of lavender, especially when combined with neroli and/or sandalwood notes. There is some scientific evidence behind this, as well as cultural tropes. Linalool, abundant in lavender, smells soapy to 25-30% of the population and smells flowery and citrusy to everyone else. Lily of the valley, especially the synthesized note (often encountered in household products), is another one where we tend to read soapy, along with floral green and fresh facets. And if sandalwood soaps sound somewhat exotic to USA residents, you will agree orange blossom has been a default scent in many cleaning products in the USA for a long time. It's so pervasive that people often associate the smell of orange blossom with cleaning day. However, in France and other European countries, it generally recalls bathing babies and children, as it's the sine qua non of many beloved kids' products. This is a perfect soap for keeping the natural moisture of the skin intact because of the glycerin in it. The TFM in the soap is 78%. It can cleanse the skin without drying it up SODIUM TALLOWATE, WATER (AQUA), SODIUM PALM KERNELATE, GLYCERIN, FRAGRANCE (PARFUM), COCONUT ACID, SODIUM CHLORIDE, SODIUM CITRATE, CITRIC ACID, PEG-45M, SERICIN, PRUNUS AMYGDALUS (SWEET ALMOND) OIL, ROSA GALLICA FLOWER EXTRACT, CYMBOPOGON MARTINI OIL, JASMINUM OFFICNALE (JASMINE) FLOWER EXTRACT, NELUMBIUM SPECIOSUM FLOWER OIL, MENTHA ARVENSIS LEAF OIL, TETRASODlUM EDTA, TETRASODIUM ETIDRONATE, TITANIUM DIOXIDE (Cl 77891), RED 4 (Cl14700), ZEA MAYS (CORN) STARCH

Anyway I do love clean, soapy, musky, and your-skin-but-better type fragrances. I do agree with Cacharel Noa, Replica Bubble Bath, Pure Grace. I think Oxygene could fit in here as well, maybe Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc. I used to dislike orange blossom and too much lavender but now I love them, as well as other herbal aromatic notes. Clean and soapy is definitely comforting, but just like other types of scents, sometimes you have to be in the mood for it. Thankfully, I find clean & "soapy" scents work well in all types of weather, unlike other fragrances. So that's a big plus for me. After welcoming bathroom products brand Camay into its portfolio at the beginning of this year, Unilever has taken steps to update the brand’s image. It has 71% TFM with neem as its main ingredient and hence is considered to be good on the skin with all its medicinal properties.is the TFM in such soaps that are plodded, completely saponified, and have a smooth texture, used for lathering and cleaning. Grade 3: I do enjoy a soapy scent, they serve a purpose and have a time and place. For me, orange blossom is the scent I most often think of as soapy, though aldehydes as well smell to me like expensive soap. Penhaligon's Castile is the first fragrance that comes to my mind, a quintessential soapy scent, and Chanel No. 5 EDP for the aldehydic expensive soaps that come in a box in pretty shapes. Lovely article!!! I love soap nuances in perfumes because as someone pointed out below, sometimes the soapy note is harsh and much reminding of dime/drug-store soap bar. Chanel in the Eau de Parfum concentration has a soapy body with a subtle animalic soul. Next to Caleche, it's as classic as it gets.

What is it about soapy scents? What makes soapy such a powerful reference in our collective fragrance search? Wouldn't it be easier to just... use some soap on our bodies? Taking into consideration that we already do, the quest has the objective to provide a longer-lasting feeling of well-being, that "just hopped out of the shower" feeling; it also tends to be guided by memories of fabulous soaps of the past which came into our hands. Avon Pavi Elle, Jovan White Musk, Wind Song, Tommy Girl, those are all perfumes that I tend to like when clean smelling skin is at it's highest appraisal for example hottest summer weather and so on. Lots of others fit that category for me from "freshly laundered" (Caesar's Woman, Avon Rare Pearls) to "fancy boutique soaps" (PS Design, vintage Roses, Roses...) Camay is an American brand of bar soap owned by Unilever. It was introduced in 1926 by Procter & Gamble and was marketed as a "white, pure soap for women," as many soaps of the time were colored to mask impurities. Camay's slogan for many years was "Camay: the soap for beautiful women." It was later replaced with "For your most beautiful complexion at every age." Pure Poison brings a waxy, fatty, yet airy floral white soap scent with a hidden whirlwind of angelic or devilish charm, depending on how much you're used to the near-lethal dosage of indole, quietly wrapped underneath. Slow burning and charming. As classic as it gets in what constitutes a European idea of soap, all airy orange blossoms and neroli on a base of light musk. It's a unisex marvel for everyday well-being—old-school but worthwhile. Olene smells just like vintage Camay soap to me- and where orange blossom soapiness is concerned, Prada Infusion de Fleurs d'Oranger (2005) and Dilmun by Villerosi reign supreme. I also get a very nice soapy vibe from some iris scents, especially Prada Infusion d'Iris and Guerlain Insolence Glacee.
