Great lunch. Recommend the Scottish Plaice, so delicious. Also had the wine pairing which was superb, Alfie was an excellent sommelier. Our server, Lilly was attentive and very pleasant. Gyngell trained at La Varenne restaurant in Paris, France, under chef Anne Willan. [4] Bread that's as light as a feather and such tasty fillings but the cheese and leek scone was the star of the show from the savoury level. I would give 3.5 if it was an option. Having been here twice now and on both occasions accessed it by walking across the meadows from the main road, can someone advise on the best place to park? I know there are some spaces in the lane leading to it but this week it was very muddy and puddles everywhere and clearly limited in the number of vehicles it can take.

Coffee and cakes very good (have not had a full meal as it's a little pricey!) Lovely to have drinks and conversation... under a fig tree on a sunny day. Most of the food was good but chocolate soufflé was a fondant rather than a soufflé which was disappointing. Wine by the bottle is expensive and poor value. By the glass probably a better choice.

We liked how the sandwiches were all on different types of bread too. Positives: it's a rather unique experience eating in what is effectively a nicely decorated greenhouse. Service was friendly, accommodating and efficient... despite it being very busy.
