Description

Bombay Bramble is a versatile plant that can be used for a variety of purposes. Its tart berries can be eaten fresh or used in jams, jellies, and pies. The leaves can be used in salads or as a garnish, and the flowers can be used in salads, too. The plant can also be used to make tea or to produce a natural dye. Does Bramble gin go with ginger ale? Pink gin is all grown up. Bombay Bramble takes the thing that made Pink Gins so popular— the berry flavor— and elevates the concept. A key ingredient, however, is the Bramble’s generous dose of fresh lemon juice. If you pair that with similar flavors — as in a lemon pound cake or lemon-poppyseed muffins — you might expect that to play up the citrus notes. In fact, this like-with-like approach can actually flip the script, providing an even baseline that spotlights the berry notes instead.

Color: Deep reddish pink, almost suggestive of magenta or cranberry juice. It is perfectly transparent. A variation on the classic G&T with a bright, fruit-forward twist, the Bombay Bramble and Tonic is easy to make, batch, and enjoy under any clear blue sky.

Lighter, more refreshing, and lower in both alcohol and sugar, the Bombay Bramble and Sonic subs in soda water for half the tonic water used in a standard Bombay Bramble & Tonic. Bottled at a robust 43% ABV, this is a berry flavored gin that is suitable for mixing as well. Tasting Notes

Bombay Bramble is successful at creating a sophisticated, upscale interpretation of the berry infused pink gin that took the world by storm in the late 2010’s. However, I think the balance, the presence of gin and gin botanical on the nose and palate positions Bombay Bramble to be more than just part of the fad.
