The problem is not everyone wants to calibrate their own lens. I think TTArtisan would sell more units if they offered the lens calibrated as an option (at a higher price point). If I was TTArtisan I’d team up with a third party company to calibrate a batch of their lenses and then sell on with their added price mark-up. Seems obvious to me.(If you do it please send me a cheque in the post for the idea!). TTArtisan 50mm f0.95 portrait – stopped down slightly on Leica M240 Can find models to photograph?

If this 1,200×900 pixel crop is about 12" (30cm) wide on your screen, the complete image would print at 35×52" (0.9×1.3 meters) at this same magnification. So in the end this is not a lens that will yield great bokeh in any situation (like e.g. the Sony FE 85mm 1.4 GM), but in many situations it yields appealing results nevertheless. If this 1,200×900 pixel crop is about 6" (15cm) wide on your screen, the complete image would print at 17⅓×26" (44×66 cm) at this same magnification. This is a shot up into the skies. Some vignetting at f1.2, less at f1.4, and it’s mostly reduced by f2. By f2.8 it’s gone. Nikon's AF-S 50mm f/1.4G on an FTZ adapter is sharper in the corners at f/1.4 than this lens as shot on a Z camera, and autofocuses and handles so much better. Adapted lenses are kludgy at best, and the autofocus LEICA to Z adapter is more of a science experiment than anything for practical, serious shooting.

For that price it is a great option to bring next to your big zoom lens as an alternative if you want to travel light or need a bit more speed every now and then. When shooting objects on the same focal plane, the TTArtisan doesn’t really sharpen its corners up until about f5.6. The lens is fully manual, featuring a dedicated aperture ring as well as a focus ring with distance markings. The Micro Four Thirds and L-mount version measures 60mm (2.4”) in diameter by 35mm (1.38”) long and weighs around 190g. the Canon RF, Canon EOS M, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z and Sony E mount versions are slightly larger and heavier, depending on what mount you go with. On APS-C cameras, this will equate to roughly a 75mm lens with the exception of MFT, where it'll be a 100mm full-frame equivalent lens.

For portraits when shooting wide open, or when shooting single subject matter where sharpness on other elements in the frame are not as important as the center subject matter, the TTArtisan 50mm f1.2 produces amazing results, and I would say it’s probably the best walk-around 50mm f1.2 for this reason at this price. The lines running through the circles are due to the glass I used as a mirror to take these pictures and are not a feature of the lens. color cast Finally, the lens comes with a screw-in metal lens cap. Personally, I love this. It’s another unique touch to this lens that you don’t find in many modern lens boxes.
