It's getting nowhere, just same old shit from Persephone & same old shit for Hades to deal with. It's getting monotonous. The author focuses too much on the romance on the first book than coming up with remarkable plot. However, I can't tell if the second book is an effort to come up with something more interesting but it kinda fails. I REALLY TRULY hope the third book would be better. I never felt so mad as I did with a female lead character. All of St. Clair’s books have been published by Bloom Books, a small publishing house that aims to provide authors with the platform of a standard publisher with an increased amount of control for authors over their work. This publishing house also works with authors including B. Celeste, Ana Huang, Laura Thalassa, and Mercedes Ron, just four names among many other female writers. He has this completely different side to him that Persephone only now got to know and yes there was a lot of tension and fighting aka trust issues in their relationship during this book but I think it was a necessary plot line to give everyone more character.

This is a pretty popular Hades and Persephone retelling, so I decided to give it a try. It sadly falls into the trap of many of the retellings I’ve read that feature these characters - the characters end up feeling a little flat. The Persephone character had the spunk and fire that I like seeing, but she almost seemed to purposely misunderstand things to add to the miscommunication plot line. The Hades here wasn’t my favorite since he was more of a bad boy and that’s not how I personally like my Hades. And the side characters, even some of the other gods, were one note. The Val'kyr's Light touch has affected you, inflicting 5850 to 6150 Light damage to players under the effect of Dark Essence every 2 sec.
