Beth tells to her husband that in that case, he can call her Ernest Hemingway. Jerry didn't get the reference. Ernest Hemingway was an author who committed suicide by placing the barrel of a shotgun into his mouth.

Throughout most of this episode, Morty acts like an immature bumbling fool, unsure of himself in a chaotic universe where his biggest priority is his crush on Jessica. He hasn’t learned any important lessons yet, and it’s here that he learns perhaps the biggest of all. In the third season episode " The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy", Morty insists that any future daughters he has will be attractive because Jessica will be their mother, proving once again his hopeless crush on her. In the episode " The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy", it is revealed that Morty is so infatuated with Jessica that he believes they will one day have at least one child together and that, should they have a daughter, she will be very attractive due to Jessica's genes.

Grace pushes Jessica to do things to make her popular; she cares a great deal about how the rest of the school sees her and Jessica. She does not appear to be a good influence on Jessica, as she convinces Jessica to act differently solely so people will look up to and like her. Jessica likes her because she thinks she has good advice and she looks at the girl as someone from whom she can seek guidance. In reality, Jessica doesn't care about being popular: she only acts the way she does because her friend encourages her to do so. Jerry: Well, try not to worry about it, Morty. You're a good kid and there's not a premium on that right now, but you'll be getting girls sometime after Brad's out of shape. Splash Potions, on the other hand, can be used against enemies if thrown at them, and that is what makes them so useful in combat. This means that a Splash Potion of Harming would actually deal damage to whoever it's thrown at it. At first, potions might not seem like the most useful offensive weapons, but if used correctly and strategically they can greatly impact on well a player does in a fight, and this might be crucial when facing threatening bosses such as the Wither for example. In the episode " Mortynight Run", it is hinted that Morty Smith has a foot fetish as Fart's telepathic ability reveals Morty's subconscious thoughts at the time were of "Jessica's feet." Jerry: God? Another useful tool, similar to the Splash Potion, is the Lingering Potion, but these are extremely difficult to make since it requires the player to come face-to-face with the Ender Dragon. This was a reference to what's known as Maternal Insults, a popular way of jokingly insulting people that kids do nowadays, wherein they will respond to questions people ask them by saying "Your Mom!" or randomly add that into their sentences as a way to offend them. The Prime Dimension [1], (also known as the Cronenberged Dimension) is one of the many universes in the multiverse, previously on the Central Finite Curve, and the universe where the titular Morty comes from.
