Description

Paint any grey details on the model using a suitable color like Mechanicus Standard Grey or Dawnstone. This could be parts of the weapons, belts, or other mechanical elements on the Deathwing Command Squad. Use the layering technique to add depth and highlights to the grey details.

For more depth, you can apply a shade like Carroburg Crimson to the red details. Use a fine brush to carefully apply the shade in the recessed areas. This will create shadows and make the red details appear richer. All such Dark Angel legends are told at specific points in a brother's progress through the Chapter's ranks. Some tell of heroes returned from war to find their brothers corrupted. Others speak of self-sacrifice or the refusal to accept surrender. No few touch upon those seeking redemption for dishonourable deeds. Such tales instill in every Dark Angel a zealous drive to right wrongs and seek out enemies, no matter where they might hide. Only Dark Angels who have shown incredible skill at arms and total loyalty to their Chapter can undergo the exacting rites of initiation required to join the Deathwing. Those who survive the mental, physical and spiritual rigours of this ritual take their place amongst the ranks of their Chapter's elite. Lion El’Jonson led his knights on a war against the Chaos-twisted creaturesthat stalked Caliban’s treacherous woods. His victory was complete, and a new age of peace and prosperity descended over Caliban – though, as with all things Dark Angels, it was peace with a hidden core of corruption.

Dark Angels are getting a book early on, but for the others, we know they won’t be on the way until at least the summer of next year. So, let’s hope the index rules are reasonable and will hold you over until the book drops. Dreadnought • Venerable Dreadnought • Contemptor Dreadnought • Redemptor Dreadnought • Mortis Dreadnought

Initiation into the Deathwing is not just an honour for the Chapter's best warriors -- it is a commencement into the first levels of the hidden truths of the Dark Angels' Inner Circle. Upon entering, some of the Chapter's secrets are revealed, and a Dark Angel learns of Luther's betrayal and the hunt for the Fallen Angels. I've used a 5 man command squad, with Belial, In a Land Raider Redeemer (<- That thing is the MVP of SM armies) and learned the following: Sword Brethren at 150pts for five look real nasty now – a bit more of a glass cannon than some similar units, but some of the highest killing power for the cost across Marines. But in a mixwing army lead by Belial, I'm already short on points and I prefer having a scoring unit that doesn't scatter when I DS on an objective. The Deathwing Terminator models come resplendent in the iconography of the Dark Angels and Space Marines, as well as wing motifs, rivets, searchlights and studs. As well as options for an Apothecary and Champion, and storm bolters, power sword and power fists, there are interesting features such as an under-slung plasma cannon, a censer-featuring halberd of Caliban. The kit includes the eerie-looking miniature of the Watcher in the Dark, which embraces a Perfidious Relic, and stands in a long cloak – out of which pokes a power-armoured foot. This fantastic box set will provide numerous options for the Warhammer 40,000 collector and modeller alike. And It would be pretty funny if the first Squad in the first company of the First chapter of the first legion didn't have fury of the First. If the Tactical Doctrine was active for your army during the previous battle round, you can change it so that the Assault Doctrine is now active.

These battle-brothers honour the traditions of the Deathwing by taking the bone heraldry and broken sword emblem of their company upon the right shoulder of their standard power armour in place of the Dark Angels' Chapter badge.Wings: I think the various wolf-riding characters (and honestly, the characters in general) are pretty attractively costed, so if you’re building wolves you’re building around herohammer. Being able to take fives of Grey Hunters is useful for list tinkering, and the last one to call out is Hounds of Morkai, who are basically just massively better Reivers who end up looking pretty spicy – they’re basically useful on rate, and extremely dangerous to enemy Psykers, a good combination. Wrap Up

This kit comes supplied unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Paints. In ninth edition 40k the Deathwing and Ravenwing were each asubfaction within a subfaction. In 10th edition their differences are now captured in their datasheets. That said, expect a Deathwing and a Ravenwing Detachment to appear in the eventual Dark Angels codex.
