Description

Overall, the Daiwa Saltist Surf Rod is a great option for anyone looking for a beachcaster that can handle larger fish.

It’s finished in a subtle dark blue color scheme with highlighted white tips, which makes it easy to see when a fish bites. Totally waterproof and windproof the Advanta Protector Beach Shelter has been designed to fold down for easy transport and storage. The shelter provides a large amount of space with room for a seat box or chair. Suitable for locating on shingle or sand, the extended skirt can be buried or weighted down for extra stability and protection. If you’re looking to get into sea fishing, a beachcaster rod might be just what you need to get started.

About the product

The shelter is secured by piling sand or shingle onto the base flaps to make it stable in even the worst of conditions. It’s quite a roomy design and can fit two inside at a push. I recently had the chance to use this beachcaster, and I was really impressed with its performance. The final thing to look out for when you’re investing in a beach fishing shelter is its quality of manufacture. As this is a Daiwa product, you can be completely confident that this shelter will live up to all your expectations. Hardwearing, durable, and well made, this is a shelter that will see you through a lifetime of shore fishing. It also comes it a fabulous vivid yellow colour. This is a far cry from the carpy olives and khakis of traditional bivvies and it truly sets this shelter apart as a sea angler’s friend. Some beachcasters are even built specifically for surf casting, which is when you cast your bait or lure into the surf zone in an attempt to catch fish that are feeding near or on the bottom. A beach shelter tends to be one of the first things to come under consideration when shore anglers are trying to lighten their load. It’s true that some of them can be unwieldy to transport when a long hike is required, but it’s a fact that many anglers would rather not go fishing than be without a beach shelter.

All variations sport a sliding DPS Reel Seat so you can adjust your reel placement to what is most comfortable. The rod also sports a Seaguide Deep Drawn Frame with an aluminium oxide ring that prevents erosion from the sea water. While a shelter can provide protection from the elements on rough days, one is also useful on very hot days, providing much needed shade for anglers and especially bait. Cool boxes and the like function a lot better when kept out of direct sunlight, and if you’re keeping a few fish for the table then they’ll help keep them in good condition. I have fished all over the world and tried many different techniques, but my favorite way to fish is from the shore. There is something about sea fishing that is so peaceful and calming. It is the perfect way to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Next, hold the beachcaster rod so that the reel is facing down. Then, using your dominant hand, grasp the bottom of the rod and curl your fingers around the handle. The Saltist Surf Rod is made from high quality X45 blanks and features Fuji ‘O’ rings and reel seats. This beachcaster rod is designed for use with multiplier reels, and comes in three different lengths.

Made with premium carbon blanks, the surf rod is strong and powerful. The model comes in a range of lengths and reelseat options including 12ft6 with either multiplier or fixed spool seating, 13ft6 or multiplier or fixed spool and a 14ft2 with multiplier fittings. The Salt XT shelter has a wide front opening and the mid-section has a flat roof, allowing you to sit inside the shelter and still have a good view of your rods. It’s wide enough for two adults to sit in reasonable comfort too.Compared with the bivvies used by carp anglers, shore shelters are generally small and lightweight and have relatively compact ‘footprints’. However, there are some very substantial shelters on the market that do offer more space, but this inevitably comes at a cost in respect of extra weight and bigger size, even when folded down. Larger shelters are probably worth considering if you fish long sessions on particular beach marks regularly, whereas smaller, lighter shelters are ideal for shorter sessions. The downside is, because of their size and weight, beachcasters are not as portable as other types of rods, but they are well-suited for fishing in areas with a lot of sand or surf! Performance starts with a great blank and Sensor Sand Storm is true to that philosophy, featuring many of Daiwa’s newest design and blank technologies to create a range that is equally refined, rugged and robust.

I had a great time using the PENN Squadron II Surf Rod, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves to fish. If you are looking for a good surf rod, then this is the beachcaster for you! Beach casters can range from 12′ to 16′ in length and designed to cast 4 – 8oz leads a long distance. You don’t want to be too close to other people or obstacles, as this could interfere with your casting.

Cookie Control

The titanium oxide guides provide great durability and line management, while the rubber shrink-wrap handle ensures a comfortable grip even when wet. Beachcasters are also often fitted with larger reels, which can hold more line and help to catch bigger fish.
