Description

Cadbury and Lindt are the old timers in this field but budget supermarkets like Aldi and Lidl are giving them a run for their money with their own versions. Even Iceland and Poundland are offering their own low-cost chocolate Santas to shoppers.

Aldi's chocolate Santa is under the Dairyfine label and is a towering, huge product at 26cms high. It's the same size as Lidl's but I soon find out why as once the wrapping comes off, they are made from identical moulds, which you can see in the video below. The taste is different though. You can choose from the following Cadbury 100-120g chocolate bars: Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Wonderland, Cadbury Dairy Milk (original), Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo, Cadbury Dairy Milk Whole nut, Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut, CDM Mini Snowballs and Cadbury Dairy Milk Plant Bar To send a bar, chocolate lovers will have to be on the lookout for the posters that will appear in over 200 locations across the nation from November 14 through December 24. The postal service is supported by the brand’s Christmas advert, which this year stars a warm and cheeky postie named Jeff.

Cadbury Secret Santa Christmas Chocolate House Kit

It's horrendously scary for me let alone a child. The taste of it is very sweet that leaves an unpleasant after taste. A poor offering, so don't be fooled by the price as it's not the best value for money and falls short all round. Nil point.

The company will also donate money to help the Trust's long-term goal of eradicating hunger in the UK. To see if a poster will be popping up near you, visit secretsanta.cadbury.co.uk. The taste is ok but not memorable or outstanding. It's got a sweet edge to it and isn't very milky. The flavour lets it down slightly but a strong contender and the best price bargain for what you get.

Each day of the campaign additional bars will be released to give as many people as possible the chance of sending a bar of chocolate in secret to someone special. This year, Cadbury's is removing its physical pop-ups in favour of a virtual postal service that can be accessed via posters posted all across the country, enabling 120,000 people nationwide to post chocolate in secret. According to WalesOnline, this will be the brand's fifth consecutive year launching the fun event, honouring the warmth and joy of giving selflessly during Christmas. The postal service is also unveiled alongside the brand’s Christmas advert, which stars the cheeky Cadbury Secret Santa postie Jeff. In the film, the generous character showcases how, through the pop-up posters, viewers can spread joy and generosity by sending an anonymous bar of Cadbury chocolate to a loved one for free. A selection of Cadbury chocolate bars will be available to gift. These include Winter Wonderland, Oreo, Caramel, Wholenut, Fruit & Nut, Mini Snowballs, and Vegan Plant bar, in addition to Cadbury Dairy Milk. Cadbury postie Jeff (Photo by Ray Burmiston) Lidl's chocolate is far creamier and has a much nicer taste than Aldi. When comparing it amongst its competitors on price, taste and appearance, this comes out top. It's best when it comes to value for money by far.

Cadbury is also partnering with The Trussell Trust for the third year running this Christmas to help make Christmas special for everyone. Across the season they will be donating 100,000 treats to over 200 food banks in the Trussell Trust network. The brand will also be making a financial donation to support the Trust’s longer-term mission of fighting hunger in the UK. To take part festive fans should look out for the Cadbury Secret Santa posters that will be appearing across the country, including train stations, shopping centres and bus stops from now until 24 December. More special digital posters will be appearing than ever before.
