Aesthetically pleasing, bags of performance mixed with a progressive action means these are equally comfortable fished on natural waters too! As we’ve come to expect from Diawa, the quality is superb for all the rods in the range. However, it is important to make the distinction between the “S” and “Z” versions of the N’Zon. The “S” rods are entry-level rods and they are more than adequate in terms of quality. The “Z” range is a considerable step up in terms of materials and consequently performance but unless you’re quite a serious angler, the price difference probably isn’t justifiable. Fighting/General Usage That much I’d already been told through reading the blurb, but to confirm these claims I treated myself to a day’s live testing of the 10ft short feeder rod on Decoy Lakes Fishery near Peterborough. If you're an angler, you know that no two models of coarse fishing rods perform precisely the same. Each one will have its unique advantages and disadvantages that make it more or less suitable for specific needs or users. So how do you decide which feeder fishing rod is the right one worth your hard-earned money? Casting Weight: 40g – Transport Length: 155cm – Weight: 169g – Handle Length: 54cm – Line rating: 4-10lb – Sections: 2

A great action for Carp and F1 fishing, a forgiving blank that powers up into the butt section. Perfect for casting up to around 25m. Casting Weight: 50g – Transport Length: 170cm – Weight: 192g – Handle Length: 57cm – Line rating: 4-10lb – Sections: 2 The casting range on the ignition really depends on the model you choose to buy, they come in 9 to 12 feet, with the 9-foot rods being good at short-range work in tight swims and margins while the 12-foot rods are much better suited to distance casting. Most commercial fishery feeder rods are designed with a progressive fish playing that bends at the tip and 'powers up' along the blank as more pressure is exerted, and ideal for carp. All-round feeder rods tend to have softer 'through' or 'cushioned parabolic' fish playing actions ideal for all species of silver fish. Through action: A rod that has a softer top section but still produces a cushioned bend throughout its entire length, giving a good fish-playing action.

Carp

The Daiwa N'Zon feeder is one of the best feeder fishing rods, especially when fishing for small to medium-sized fish in rivers and streams. It has a thin, lightweight pole that makes it easy to carry, but it can still hold relatively large feeders without a hitch.

Like all of Daiwa’s rods, the tournament SLR is well-built. The real discretion between the SLR and a cheaper alternative is the materials used. The rod is made completely from industry-leading materials with a strong focus on making a rod that casts brilliantly. There’s no doubt that this rod is an excellent feeder but it wouldn’t be our first recommendation to new anglers. Its a bit more pricey than some of the other rods and although it compensates through its incredible technology and features, its something that we feel a lot of anglers may not use. What's the difference between a commercial feeder rod and an all-round or natural venue feeder rod? Be it float or feeder, an F1 rod needs to be as soft and as forgiving as possible, to absorb the weighty lunges of a hard fighting fish that just doesn’t know when it is beaten.
