Description

An oriental wood sandalwood-oud combo with a synthetic general woodiness, a very sweet opening and a creamy vanilla throughout. It's scent is Middle Eastern incense and spices. This has a large projection and if you walk into a room wearing it people are going to start looking around wondering if someone is burning incense. I've been wearing it every day for a week straight after I got it. And I know it's spring and I hoarded a buncha spring perfumes to specifically wear IN SPRING... but I'm too addicted to this one :') Bought this for it’s supposed By The Fireplace resemblance, but BTF is it not :( Maybe I need to let my bottle sit for a few weeks, but first impressions have left me disappointed yet again with this blind buy.

LATTAFA defines lifestyle and offer unforgettable creations through elegant Arabian Oud perfumes for all… Made in U.A.E. However, I opine it's of the good synthetic smells; rounded, smooth and pleasing. Nothing chemical or off-putting about it to my nose. I can see why this gives some people BR540 vibes because it shares that same antiseptic, hospital vibe. I’ve no desire to wear this and I’m not sure I’d like it on my husband either! Thankfully it was a cheapy so not a huge loss, but I’m a bit sad that it’s so often compared to by the fireplace because I think that’s misleading. So let's roll. Ameer al Oudh Intense Oud is a winter scent for sure and it's time has come. For those that go by similarity in making your decision, yes this is very close to Maison Margiela "By the Fireplace." So close it fooled me into thinking something was burning in the fireplace. Noticeably less complex, but if you've sampled By the Fireplace you have the idea. I like that scent. I don't like it's EDT performance. I have the same complaint about their fabulous Jazz Club scent. No endurance. This fragrance certainly corrects that. Personally, I can tolerate more sweetness and florals and so I marginally prefer Lattafa Oud Mood and Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud and their better, woodier, darker performance to BTF, even though I usually can't stand anything like the rose note in Oud Mood. I don't know what it smells like notes-wise other than sweet, salty, smokey and roasted, because it's very synthetic-smelling. These are different, although there are similarities with oud, vanilla & woods. However, Aoud Vanille is more complex and has stronger performance, with an oud-ier presence up front.

This fragrance is making me hungry. 🤤 I'm glad I got two bottles of this. One I'm reviewing is a November 2022 batch. The other is from March 2023 and I hope it won't smell different. Absolute beast longevity wise too, good 8-10 hours out of this and the projection is perfect, not too loud, not a skin scent, just radiates around you in a little bubble. That review below was HILARIOUS! 😄 Anyway, Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud smells to me not similar, but reminds me of the best aspects of my two favorite Lattafa fragrances: Qaa'ed and Khaltaat Al Arabia Royal Blends. Lattafa Ameer Al Oud Eau de Parfum by Lattafa is a luxurious and long-lasting fragrance that is perfect for those who appreciate the rich and exotic scent of oud. This perfume is crafted with the finest ingredients, including pure oud oil, giving it an intense and distinctive aroma that will turn heads.Smells like a dessert is cooking in a wood fire. Even the scent feels warm to my nose and there is this uncanny wood smoke aftersmell/nosefeel when I exhale. Then the sandalwood comes through more. It does smell pretty cheap, a little reminiscent of an air freshener, but it's not gonna smell expensive for that price. The vanilla is pretty synthetic at start, smells like vanilin sugar, but it does get more creamy with time. Uniqueness: 8.0 (quite unique for a Cambodian Oud fragrance that is very wearable and not offensive)

Compliments: 8.0 (With an increasing number of people enjoying oriental woody sweet fragrances, I realy do think that this fragrance will please to a wide range of people of both genders; the number of compliments I received exceeded my expectations) Yes, when it arrived and I did my blind buy first spray - I was turned off and told my boyfriend I'm giving it to him. Now you'll smell it when coming within close proximity, but it simply means that longevity is bizarre. It's actually something I'm used to from Oudh containing fragrances where the ingrediënt plays a main role. Woody fragrances usually last longer than any other type of perfume, but woody-oudy ones take the cake. Even when it was created by a chemist and not in nature. It's a different scene, and it isn't as comforting nor is it as well rendered as By the Fireplace. It is, however, still very interesring in it's own right and there is plenty here to grab your attention and bring your nose into. It also performs better on my skin, so that is nice, but the opening is truly terrible. That campfire was started with lighter fluid, my friends. Do not smell this or be smelled in the first 15 minutes of wearing this. Seriously, it's bad. I almost washed it off and put in on my trade shelf hoping someone else might like it. Just give it a chance though, or consider rubbing it in to tamp out some of those top notes (Gasp), once the initial miasma of lighter fluid and cotton candy calms down it becomes something that is quite enjoyable, if not as breathtaking as By the Fireplace. It only seems to get better as it develops, changing drastically about 3 or 4 hours in. I love this fragrance so much that I often just sneak into my closet, open the cap to smell it right off the sprayer. And quite some times I just spray it in the house just to enjoy the smell of it. This is really addictive to me.My first thoughts were that it smells like church incense with a sweet sugar and a general "orientallness". A very very sweet and incense-y, maybe a little medicinal opening. Dries down to some sort of general woodiness and the titular oud, which is obviously synthetic and does give that rubber tires smell a little bit. I get some sort of synthetic smell in the frag which I hate. Some sort of chemical woodiness I guess. Just messes up the whole fragrance for me. Also, this juice STAYS. I sprayed my arm yesterday morning, and I found it to be a bit suffocating through the night! So if you end up loving this juice, you may find this bottle will last you a while, as a little goes a long way. Lattafa serves fragrances with an aspirational taste of international culture. TOP NOTES The notes presented in the pyramid above are spot-on except the Oud...unless that's where the tobacco and dried fruit notes are coming from. Yeah, maybe those Oud notes appear after about 3 and a half hours as a sweet almondy tobacco with dark dried fruits. I understand the comparisons to by the fireplace, but at the same time this fragrance is different too. Wearing this I dont think people will think you are wearing it. The notes of by the fireplace are more distinctive and clear, changing place as the most prominent node through the duration of the fragrance. Smell once? You get pepper. Next time smoke. Then vanilla. Then spices. Oops there's the pepper again. Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oudh smells the same, but melded into a single fragrance. No pepper at all though, probably misses a few other notes too. If anything, it does conjure the picture of a smoldering fireplace better than BTF does. But, BTF does smell higher quality.

BTW! Layering recommendations: Try this with Zara Rich Warm Addictive or Lattafa's Ana Abiyedh Rouge - they both make it a little more sweet and blend very amazingly together. <3 this was my first "Gulf fragrance " as many arabs call it. and I never regret it . it is so nicely done and performance is decent. The Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud perfume is popular among those who want to make a statement with their scent. It is designed to be long-lasting, so you can enjoy its captivating aroma all day.I debated buying this for months. MANY months. Why was I so hesitant? Because of the gender poll here saying its more masculine than feminine. Well, I don't agree. 100% unisex. To start off I want to go ahead and mention that Ameer Al Oudh smells nothing similar to 24 Gold of Scentstory. It's Ameer's sister Raghba which is the one who smells similar to 24 Gold.
