Description

The Swing Caddie SC300 was a huge hit. It was accurate, easy to set up, and offered additional features over the Swing Caddie SC200+. Accuracy: +/- 3%(ball speed), +/- 3 yards (carry distance in target mode), +/- 5% (carry distance in practice mode) When choosing a launch monitor, it’s vital to know how much information you want the device to deliver. For some golfers, they just want basic metrics without getting overwhelmed. But for other golfers, they might want every detail imaginable. And the R10 and Rapsodo can take this way further with scatterplots of every shot you hit, so you can not only see distance, but you can see if it was straight as well. If you’re a weekend golferwho doesn’t practice much, it’s probably not worth it. Go spend your money on some lessons and I think you’ll be better off.

My favorite way to work with any launch monitor is to dial in my wedge distances from 50-100 yards. If this were the only kind of practice you did with the SC300, it would pay huge dividends in your game. My advice is to work on specific yardages to get the feel of each of them and then test yourself by randomly selecting yardage to hit towards. The SC300i can tell you how high and how far you hit the ball, but it can’t tell you anything about its lateral trajectory. One of the first things I noticed was the inclusion of a remote – which is actually super valuable. That's why I was happy to see that the SC300i was giving much more reliable metrics on launch angle; this will allow golfers to experiment with things like ball position, tee height, or even driver loft settings ( be careful). How the SC300i Fits Into the MarketplaceAccuracy wise, this isn’t some “fairly accurate” device either. Instead, it’s extremely accurate and should help you dial in your distances. Here are the accuracy stats provided by Voice Caddie: It’s definitely more stripped down and a little rougher around the edges than products from Garmin or Flightscope whose devices rely entirely on using the app. It does not measure clubhead path or even calculate it, but then very few inexpensive launch monitors can do this. The wealth of information it does provide though can really help golfers dial in their swing or equipment preferences, especially when it comes to gapping your irons or wedges.

Or even more so, the Mevo Plus is a paltry 90 minutes on battery power alone. Using the My Swing Caddie App Shots hit more or less on line, seem to register with pretty accurate carry, apex, and smash factor numbers. How much you use the Swing Caddie SC300 will likely depend on how and where you use it. If you’re currently hitting balls into a net, the SC300 is going to be an upgrade that you use regularly. For players who do all their practice outdoors, the SC300 may come out for serious sessions but stay home when things are more casual.

Set Up & Ease of Use

The fact it is the same company, but using different names (with two different apps) is a bit confusing. The largest improvement I saw on the Swing Caddie SC300i is with launch angle. The previous model had numbers that were as much as 15-20% different than SkyTrak. Here are the launch angle measurements I recorded: After you’ve setup your account and connected the SC300i to your phone or tablet, you’ll be able to select “Practice” or “Target”. Now let’s turn to what’s new about the SC300i. As I mentioned earlier, the ability to report spin numbers is new. Again, you need to use the app to get these numbers – the display of the SC300 and SC300i are identical – but it’s a substantial addition.

One of the best perks about this device is that within the app, you can customize your data to display with each swing. Thanks to its 2D overlay, you can easily see your smash factor, distance, swing speed, launch angle and more. It’s a nice perk to get to see your data with your swing, so you can save your best videos and watch them again later. Upgraded Version: Mevo+ The statistics feature is another way this personal launch monitor will help you shoot lower scores. Swing Caddie will automatically store your stats for each club, which makes it easy to review critical data for the past 100 shots. This makes it easy to spot a trend and know what you need to work on during your next practice session. Swing Caddie SC200 Vs. SC300 To get the most accurate data, you’re going to want to tell it which club you’re hitting. And having the remote makes this much easier.Going out to the range and hitting ball after ball isn’t always the most fun thing to do because you don’t really know the real numbers. Having something that’ll tell you how far each of your shots went makes things a lot more interesting. In this post, I’m going to be reviewing the Swing Caddie SC300from Voice Caddie and sharing my honest thoughts after testing it out for myself.
