In the SteamVR application window, go to Menu> Devices> Pair Controller and follow the instructions. If you're someone that hates having cables running everywhere, VR may not be for you. On top of the 3 required power cords (2 of which will likely be running down your wall to power the base stations), the link box has an HDMI and USB cable that connects to your PC. There's also a port for the 16.4-foot proprietary HTC cable, which plugs into the headset. In the SteamVR application window, go to Menu > Room setup and follow the instructions. We recommend you choose the Standing Only setup, which is the most straightforward option. Thankfully, I had the VIVE Pro 2 routed through a laptop, so I could move things around fairly easily. If I were on my desktop, I would have needed an entirely new power strip just for the VR unit. Cables Upon Cables Before using the headset, clear the room of obstacles and hazards, people, furniture, and any other items to ensure that you have enough space both above and around you.

You can pair devices again at any time in Varjo Base by navigating to the System tab and Pair SteamVR device.

You can set your preference to stationary or sitting, which minimizes the space you need to move around, but it still requires much more room than general PC gaming. Not to mention the components, like the VIVE controllers and the headset itself, aren't compact in any regard. FAQ & Troubleshooting Find answers to frequently asked questions and get help with the most common troubleshooting situations. Make sure the base stations have a direct line of sight with the headset, even when moving around the room.

Increased range and FOV

FOR THE OCULUS QUEST 2 USERS THAT ARE STRUGGLING WITH THE 2.0 BASE STATIONS NOT SHOWING UP ON STEAMVR. Varjo Base will attempt to automatically enable the OpenVR runtime for XR-3. If you have previously used an OpenVR-compatible headset on this computer, you may be prompted to enable the runtime manually. Note: If you use SteamVR™ 1.0 base stations, ensure that the base stations have a direct line of sight both with the headset and each other.
