Description

The sheer joy of building attracts adults and kids to these massively popular construction toys, which are now available in various themes, ranging from cities to trains to robots. Nothing is hardly left that has to be converted into a LEGO® set. PurpleDave Very interesting! I did see a television show which mentioned some ship I believe it was in the 19th century which sank in the Great Lakes partly due to not having enough drainage gaps. (If I also recall correctly there was some claims the captain deliberately made the ship sink to get the insurance money or something like that).

The 135 cm long LEGO Titanic set is the company’s most extensive ship toy construction set in size. The 1:200 scale model of the legendary ship makes it the ultimate building set that comes with 9,090 pieces. 3. What is the biggest LEGO Pirate Ship?

Features a 2-level observation headquarters, coast guard ship, helicopter with helipad, speedboat and a buildable buoy. Many great LEGO® Ship sets are still not in the market for consumers, especially those based on the LEGO® Cruise Ship theme. However, a few cruise ship companies and individuals have made their cruise ship LEGO® sets. Both 7738 Coast Guard Helicopter & Life Raft and 60013 Coast Guard Helicopter are equipped with a motorized winch. For me I find coast guard Lego interesting since Australia doesnt really have a coast guard, at least like what is depicted in the Lego sets. Jetskis rescuing surfers and so forth reminds me a lot of Surf Life Saving which have nothing to do with coast guard activities. At least in my local area the rescue helicopter is the Westpac rescue helicopter, a service funded by the Westpac bank and which has nothing to do with the government.

I was very happy with the most recent coast guard starter set which had a beach buggy very reminiscent of the one's Surf Life Saving use here in Australia. In regards to coast guard, yes the 2008/2009 line was pretty cool, I liked the ship and lighthouse although the most recent coast guard ship they did was the best since it was the first time we've had a proper coast guard base. Includes 7 minifigures: 6 coast guard members (three shipmates, 2 helicopter crewmates, one headquarters crewmate) and a sailor, plus 2 animal figures: a shark and an octopus. With the release of the new Res-Q theme in 1998, which covered most typical rescue tasks, the classic Coast Guard was temporarily replaced. However, the next release came one year later with some changes. The set 6435 Coast Guard HQ included minifigures with a new uniform that had blue torso pieces and the Coast Guard logo swapped the blue coat of arms with a triangle. The building reintroduced the color scheme of the Coastal Rescue Base from 1989, and was the last Coast Guard set to feature the classic blue and white colors for buildings and ships. Accessory elements include a flare launcher with red ‘flare’ element, several life preservers, life vests, 2 walkie-talkies, binoculars, 2 coffee mugs, coffee machine and computers.

Though the initial thoughts of LEGO® indicate a favourite pass time for kids, the rapidly expanding “LEGO® Universe” clearly states that the LEGO®s are not just for kids. They are not just for kids but a great hobby during your free time on ships or during breaks at home. No. The next Coast Guard release came in 2008, the first year in which the theme was officially recognized as a Subtheme of the still relatively new City theme. The theme came with 8 new sets. The new Coast Guard logo resembled the diamond shaped logo from 2003, but this time the color Orange was prominently featured on both vessels and buildings. The new uniform consisted of yellow torso pieces sporting the Coast Guard logo and blue arms and legs with blue helmets or caps. Hop on the big surfboard and head out to rescue the stranded surfer before the shark gets any closer. The entire list of new LEGO CITY sets (as well as their reported prices and release dates) can be found below. Since these names are translated from German the official set announcements – if they come – may be slightly different. Set name

Since the introduction of the first Coast Guard logo in 1989, a total of five Coast Guard bases were released. The 6387 Coastal Rescue Base from 1989 was a relatively ordinary building with no relation to water and, but for its blue coloring, could just as well be a Police or Fire station. A new base did not appear until 6338 Hurricane Harbor was released in 1995. This was built on quay platforms like previous harbor themed sets and was situated directly at the shore, an attribute it would share with all later Coast Guard stations. The Coast Guard HQ from 1999 was more juniorized but retained the established white and blue color scheme and included a large boat, along with other vehicles.

Frequently Asked Questions

In 1995, a new Coast Guard building was released. 6338 Hurricane Harbor used the same color scheme as the previous building, though the colors were inverted. The walls were now white and the window frames were blue. The set featured specialized coast guard minifigures with grey torso pieces and blue caps, both emblazoned with the established Coast Guard logo. One year later the Coast Guard got a new ship. The 4022 C26 Sea Cutter was released as part of the Boats line. It had a similar color scheme to the Coastal Cutter from four years previous, and included minifigures with the same design as in the Hurricane Harbor set. That same year, a Coast Guard Minifigure appeared next to a lifeguard tower sporting the life ring logo in the 6334 Wave Jump Racers set. The Skull’s Eye Schooner is LEGO’s most giant pirate vessel ever constructed. It has everything a person can ask for. The 912-piece set is quite extensive and very detailed. It has six cannons, a captain’s cabin and nine mini-figures. 4. Which Cruise Line has a partnership with LEGO? In the US, the Coast Guard functions as something of a hybrid between military and police. For all practical purposes, they are a police force, but in times of war can be called up to serve as something like a defense-only Navy. Most of the time it's just deterring smuggling, and performing rescues at sea. Ive always wanted a proper patrol boat that wasnt the same size as a cargo ship, likely using that 'medium' hull piece which floats that they've used for various so called fishing boats, with a closed in cabin/superstructure. Join the crew of the LEGO® City coast guard as they protect the beach with the Coast Guard Starter Set, featuring a beach tower with stairs and viewing platform, beach buggy with opening roll cage, room for 2 minifigures and space for the 2-minifigure surfboard on the roof, binoculars, 2 walkie-talkies and a small surfboard. Includes 3 minifigures and a shark figure.
