The Arabic version of the Series 1-4 intro uses a different instrumental, and has an extra scene added taken from Rich and Famous. A BBC Video slide advertising two other Childrens' BBC Video releases, which are William's Wish Wellingtons 1: William and Barksure and The New Adventures of Fireman Sam 2: Disaster for Dinner - both of which are also available from BBC Video. Today is a special day for Station Officer Steele. He's especially trimmed his moustache for his appearance on television in Wales Today. Could this be fame at last? Oomp pah-pah! That's the sound of The Pontypandy Fire Station Brass Band. It's time for a spot of band practice - which is a jolly good thing if Fireman Cridlington's skills on the trombone are anything to go by. This is the first Fireman Sam video release to be released by BBC Video and is also the first of only two Fireman Sam video releases to contain the 1981-1988 BBC Video Ident from when it was originally released in 1988 until it was re-released with the 1991-1997 BBC Video Ident in 1993.

Previously released on Fireman Sam 2: Lost Cat - BBCV 4137, The Very Best of Fireman Sam 2 - BBCV 5278 and Fireman Sam: Spot of Bother and Five Other Stories - BBCV 5466) In the Series 5 intro as Sam is driving Jupiter down the main street of Pontypandy during the line "...Fireman Sam! 'Cause he's gonna save the day!...", if one looks closely it can be seen that Jupiter's lights do not flash at the correct rate near the end of the shot. From Series 14 there are no sound effects or intro exclusive scenes during the theme, but short clips from the previous and current season. The Slovak version of the 1987 theme uses a synth piano cover of the original instrumental, but in later versions it uses the original theme.Phew, it's hot outside today! With the weather so dry, Pontypandy's Fire Department are especially busy. And now, Jupiter - The Fire Engine - is almost out of water. Previously released on Fireman Sam 2: Lost Cat - BBCV 4137, The Very Best of Fireman Sam 2 - BBCV 5278 and Fireman Sam: Bentley The Robot and Five Other Stories - BBCV 5467) Sam, Sarah and James are all set for a camping adventure. The tent is up and all of the eggs are cooking nicely on the campfire. Then, Trevor arrives with his bus on fire. Trevor's Bus has a flat tyre and Dilys and the children have been waiting for ages at the bus stop - trying to get home after the sales. Can Sam help them?

A BBC Video slide advertising the other six Fireman Sam video releases, which are Lost Cat, Sam's Day Off, Snow Business, Norman's Pitfall, All in A Good Cause and The Very Best of Fireman Sam 1 - all of which are also available on BBC Video. A new golf bag makes an excellent retirement present for Station Officer Steele. Then, a worried Sam and the crew are called to a fire at Trevor's potting shed - worried, because that's where they've hidden the present! In the first CGI intro ( Series 6 - 7) when Sam, Elvis, and Radar left with Jupiter, Jupiter's side logo was missing and Penny's helmet could not be seen on the shelf even though she did not go to an emergency. Both these goofs were corrected in the Series 8 - 9 intro.Trevor's Bus has a flat tyre and Dilys and the children have been waiting for ages at the bus stop - trying to get home after the sales. Can Sam help them both?
