So I don’t use too much, I keep a bottle of diluted Sal Suds by my sink: ½ c. (120 mL) of Sal Suds in a quart (1 L) of water. A small squirt in a pot or a larger squirt for a sink. Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds Liquid Cleaner is not a soap but instead is a concentrated hard-surface all-purpose cleaner. It is made with plant-based surfactants and natural fir needle and spruce essential oils, without any synthetic dyes, fragrances or preservatives.” ( source) What is Sal Suds used for? Sal Suds is very versatile can be used to wash and clean a variety of hard and soft surfaces. Here are some ideas for how to use Sal Suds: Here is what Lisa Bronner, the granddaughter of the founder of Dr Bronner, says about Sal Suds and SLS on her blog:

Urine stains: a 1:15 dilutionof Sal Suds with 5 drops of lemon essential oil works great on urine stains and smells in the bathroom. For mattress urine stains, I sprinkle with baking soda, then spray with this mixture and wipe up.Dr. Bronner’s Liquid castile Soap Concentrate: For personal care uses, gentle house cleaning, foaming hand soap and more. You know when kids get in a fight and you try to find out what actually happen but get a long story and multiple answers? That is how I feel when it comes to borax. On the one hand, it is touted as a great green cleaner, but on the other people claim that it is harmful and deadly. Sal Suds is highly concentrated, so it’s diluted in this recipe with water. You’re welcome to play around with a water to Sal Suds ratio that yields the best results for your dishes. I’ve found that a 1:1 ratio works best for me. Also, note that SLS is not a body care product. I would not use it in my homemade body washes or hand soaps unless you're actually washing car grease or motor oil off of your hands! And definitely don't use it in your hair – most shampoos in the stores contain SLS, and they really dry out and then damage the hair.

tablespoon (7.5 mL) Sal Suds in 3 gallons (12 L) of water for exterior. Use All-Purpose Spray on interior surfaces and leather seats. Wipe with damp cloth. Tbsp. (30-45 mL) for a large load in a top loading washer. Optional: For extra whitening/brightening, add ½ c. (120 mL) baking soda to wash cycle and/or 1 c. (240 mL) vinegar to rinse cycle. Halve these amounts for HE washers. to 1 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL to 7.5mL) Sal Suds in a large sink of water. 1 drop Sal Suds for one pot, more if needed. A small squirt in a pot or a larger squirt for a sink. It’s like they’re filling those oil molecules with a whole lotta love and reaching out and connecting them with their former enemy, those water molecules. And once they’re connected, they realize it’s not so bad. They can get along. They can hang out together. I think there’s a larger lesson here. Because Castile soap is a true soap, it reacts with the minerals contained in hard water. (Here’s my test to find out if you have hard water.) The more dissolved minerals there are, the “harder” the water. The reaction of soap with these minerals in the water leaves behind an insoluble film that’s commonly called “soap scum”. This term is a bit of a misnomer, because it’s not actually soap that remains, but a precipitate of minerals.Tbsp. (7.5 mL) Sal Suds in approximately 3 gallons (12 L) of hot water. 20 drops tea tree oil (optional). Dunk mop (microfiber, preferably) and wring thoroughly. On wood and laminate, avoid excess water and mop up wet areas.

It is cruelty-free, as certified by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics. Our cleaner is shown to be readily biodegradable under the stringent testing conditions utilized pursuant to OECD Guideline 310. Pretreating Laundry Stains: Pre-measure Sal Suds for load. Apply some or all directly to stain(s). Let sit 30 minutes or more. Add remaining Sal Suds to washer. For broad stain, spray with a solution of half Sal Suds/half water. I have also included 4 recipes for cheap eco-friendly cleaning products at the end of the post. What is Sal Suds made of? Hard Water Stains: To remove hard water stains I use either Sal Suds all purpose cleaner or Bon Ami.Here is everything you need to know about the difference between castile soap and Sal Suds: Castile soap Stainless Steel Appliances & Sink: Spray appliance with All-Purpose Spray. Wipe with a soft damp cloth in the direction of the grain. Spray sink and sprinkle with baking soda from a shaker. Scrub then rinse. Dr. Bronner Sal Suds Concentrate– A coconut-based natural formula that cleans exceptionally well. In fact, one drop added to two quarts of water is enough to clean carpet stains. A teaspoon in a quart of water is enough to clean most surfaces and this is a very effective spray laundry stain treatment when diluted with water. Last year I shared a dish soap recipe on the blog titled, Easy Dish Soap. That recipe truly is easy to make, but after months and months of making that soap, I decided there must be an even easier way to make dish soap, a super easy dish soap.
