A gorgeous gift for anyone who loves making espresso the old-fashioned way on a hob, but has a new-fangled induction hob that refuses to ‘talk’ to their old, well-loved stovetop percolator. The Bialetti man with the moustache, recognised now by pretty much everyone and featuring on all of the brand’s products, represents Renato Bialetti himself, son of the inventor of the moka pot, Alfonso. This iconic logo was designed in 1953 by Paul Campani, an Italian artist. One thing to note is that because the original Moka Express is made from aluminum, it can only be used on gas and electric stoves, not on an induction stovetop. It was designed for the gas stove, but I’ve used it on the open flame as well. It works at campfires, but it’s a more hands-on process. The Pros Portable– The material and build of the Moka Express make for a lightweight coffee maker that you can even bring on your travels.

Aluminum body – The aluminum material allows for even heat distribution, lowering the chances of having under-extracted or over-extracted, bitter coffee. Again, these come in all shapes and sizes and it depends on what’s to your liking. I personally like the Imusa Espresso Maker. It has a glass pot so you can see the coffee brewing, something that is usually not possible with a traditional Moka pot. With this new addition, however, there are new things to consider. For example, I noticed that the crema valve adds additional pressure which does shorten the brew time, but also increases the chances of over-extraction.

These three have virtually no difference when it comes to the brewing process. The only visible difference is in the design and style in which they were made. The Bialetti Musa Coffee Gator Stovetop Espresso Maker: We were impressed with the build quality of this moka pot (and it has an induction compatible plate on its base), but this brewer, too, did not have a big enough filter basket and brewed bitter coffee. This is good news for crema-seeking coffee enthusiasts who have an induction hob at home. It works in exactly the same way as a classic stovetop espresso maker (put water in the bottom chamber, freshly ground coffee in the middle, heat on the stove to send coffee bubbling up into the top chamber) – but is sleekly made from high-quality 18/10 stainless steel rather than the classic faceted aluminium. We strive to ensure that your delivery arrives safely to you, but we understand that sometimes accidents happen outside of our control. Light Roast Brew Test: We brewed a moka pot with light-roasted coffee and weighed out a 1:10 ratio of coffee to water (or as close as we could get) for each brewer. We ground the coffee slightly coarser than a traditional espresso grind and used a paper filter to remove more sediment from the final cup. We evaluated each model on ease of use and coffee quality.

Zulay Kitchen Stovetop Espresso Maker: After multiple tests, this moka pot failed to seal properly and could not produce enough pressure to brew coffee. By providing Authority to Leave you agree that the parcel is deemed to have been received when left at your premises.

Bialetti New Moka Induction : Tradition Meets Innovation

Moka Induction” is made in Italy and guarantees high quality thanks to its patented safety valve, which makes it easy to clean too. In addition, the ergonomic handle makes the pot comfortable to grip. The size of “Moka Induction” is measured in cups: the capacity of this one is 6 cups, which corresponds to 280 ml of coffee. The external steel layer of the boiler means it can also be used on induction hobs, while the internal aluminium layer ensures homogeneous heat distribution. In the Bialetti “Moka Induction” pot, tradition truly meets innovation. To assess your claim, you will be required to provide photo and/or video evidence of the damaged product. A special valve and column are installed to maximize the creaminess of the coffee while still delivering the rich flavor you’d get with a standard Moka Express.
