One of my followers (shout out to Natisha!) sent me a message yesterday asking me if I had read this series. She said it was one of her all-time favorites and, being that I love Knox so much, she thought I would love this too (if I hadn't read it already). I've wanted you from the moment we met, and if you think sitting next to me in your bra doesn't overwhelm me with desire, you're very wrong. I just don't force myself where I'm not invited."-Bones This is your typical vampire slayin' and vampire layin' book. Besides the green glowy eyes that the vampires have, there isn't alot here that you wont find in another vamp romance, except for Bones. He makes it sooo worth it. Not that I needed any reminding but Bones has definitely cemented himself in my top five all time favorite MMC’s. BUT. Let's end this on a more positive note. This book features pretty much everything I don't like: romance, nice male lead *shudders* and immature female lead. SO. If you like everything I don't like, there's a good chance you will LOVE this book. Besides, the mere fact that I disliked this book should give you an indication of how extremely enjoyable it is. YOU WILL LOVE IT I TELL YOU.

The refrains must rhyme with each other; as well, the second lines of each verse must rhyme with each other, and the first lines must rhyme with the refrains. As such, the rhyming pattern of a villanelle is always ABA ABA ABA ABA ABA ABAA. They carry two large katana swords and swing them with incredible power, though much more slowly than the other infiltrators you’ve faced. Due to their heavy emphasis on offense, they have pretty terrible posture - so be sure to learn the timing of their slow two-blade slices and deflect them to break their posture - Double Ichimonji can actually break some of them instantly. They also have high powered rifles that fire explosive shots, which is why having Suzaku’s Lotus Umbrella can be a big help here. Now for the foremost reason why I loved this book...Bones, Bones, Bones, Bones, Bones...wistful sigh and dreamy shudder. Bones gives Edward a major run for the money for the top yummy vampire award! He just flat-out takes the stake...cake! Need some examples? I also hate to say, but this instalment has the worst dialogue of the series. I’d been expecting the delayed release meant Wright was editing the manuscript, making ‘Grave Night’ better, but all evidence points to another rushed-to-publication effort that is having me lose faith in this series, this author, and self-published books in general. It's so interesting how Bones views Cat here vs. How Cat views herself in Halfway to the Grave. Bones sees ALL of Cat: her strength, her vulnerability, her fears. He sees why she's the way that she is and he hates everyone who's been abusive to her and who's made her hate her vampire side. Of course, we already knew all of this from Halfway to the Grave, but reading it from Bones's POV really amplifies his feelings. We've all had that one bad ex, but Cat's ex might actually take the cake. He was a total douche but it did help ground her character a little bit with some history, plus his worth to her is hilariously overestimated. The Abandoned Dungeon Entrance has also been sealed - meaning the only way to progress is from Lord Kuro’s room, as the Upper Tower has also been closed. If you haven’t already, make sure to turn in your last Gourd Seed to Emma, as its all she can do now. Create Grave Squire The graveknight can gift a piece of its armor to a willing ally, which becomes its grave squire. The graveknight can communicate telepathically with its squire at any distance, see through the squire's senses, and cast suggestion as a divine innate spell through the telepathic link at will; the squire treats its degree of success as one step worse. If the graveknight's main armor is destroyed, the squire's piece expands to cover the squire's body over 1d10 days, after which point it becomes the graveknight's new body. The graveknight can have only one squire at a time, and must recover the gifted piece of armor if it wishes to create a new squire. HP 175 ( negative healing, rejuvenation); Immunities cold, death, disease, paralyzed, poison, unconscious

Sacrilegious Aura ( abjuration, aura, divine, evil) 30 feet. When a creature in the aura uses a positive spell or ability, the graveknight automatically attempts to counteract it, with the listed counteract modifier. I expected Bones to be an aggravating Alpha male. Oh please don't even think about laughing okay? Most of my very good friends here go in heavy panting mode whenever he is mentioned (you know who you are people) so I logically assumed Bones was a total (hence irresistible) asshole. What I failed to take into consideration is that my dear friends are lovely girls who like lovely guys. Me? The bastards get me in heavy panting mode every time. One note: Jeaniene Frost updated some elements of the story. Beepers were replaced by cell phones and some more current references were added (like comparing Rodney to Ted Lasso). And Death Shall Have No Dominion‘—looks at the way death controls humankind and the fact that even though it is powerful, it can’t control everything. This book is essentially the same base story as the first book in this series, and while the novel is presented in 3rd person, the story is from Bones's POV (whereas the first book and the rest of the books in the series are from Cat's POV). See, I TOTALLY understand why this book was recommended to me. It's EXACTLY the kind of sexy, kinky shit I'm into and I really enjoyed it (so thanks!) but then I also recognize that this is a cheeseburger. It was SUCH a cheeseburger that I started to feel cholesterol moving through my synapses and forming some brain version of diabetes. Maybe he knew. Maybe on some deep, deep level, he could sense I was evil. I wish I hadn't been born this way. I wish I hadn't been born at all."-Cat HP 58; AC 27, Fort +17, Ref +15, Will +14. Weapon Master The graveknight has access to the critical specialization effects of any weapons it wields. All Monsters in " Graveknight" Name As mentioned above, Dylan Thomas ( Bio | Poems) is thought to have written this poem while considering his father’s impending death. His father, David John Thomas, died in 1952, the year after Thomas published the poem. Due to the fact that the speaker mentions a “father” specifically in the final lines has led many to believe that this is Thomas’ father, making Dylan Thomas ( Bio | Poems) the speaker of the poem. There is no complete evidence that this is the case, though. More likely than anything, Thomas probably wrote this poem as a way of dealing with mortality more generally. It’s something that everyone, no matter their profession, social status, or personal history, has to face. This is also the primary reason the poem has withstood the test of time and is as popular today as it is.

And I'm probably digging my own grave here (PUNS, I has 'em), but he's also very obviously modeled after Spike. As in James Marsters from BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. Lightning. Lightning symbolizes inspiration and is seen in lines four through five when the wise men realize that their “words had forked no lightning.” They realized there was no they could’ve done to improve the lives of those around them. The men continue to fight for their lives with the hope that they’ll experience that flash of lightning and be bettered because of it. Lightning also symbolizes power. It is beyond the touch of death, just like these men would like to be. In fact, if he wasn't a vampire--not my favorite--he'd be a strong contender for Numero Uno Book Boyfriend (currently held by Clayton Danvers of Women of the Otherworld fame). If the narrator is meant to be the voice of Dylan Thomas ( Bio | Poems) himself, then this could make sense in the light of his father’s illness at the time of his creation for the work. After that Cat makes it her mission to hunt and kill creatures like her father. Now she's twenty-two, and she's refined her technique, learned through trial and error the best ways to beguile then dispatch her prey.I know what you're thinking and you're wrong. This isn't goodbye, Kitten. I didn't survive over two hundred years to find you only to lose you within five months. I want you, but I'm not saying goodbye to you, because we will get through this."-Bones Phantom Mount [three-actions] ( arcane, conjuration, summon) The graveknight summons a supernatural mount as per phantom steed, heightened to a level equal to half the graveknight's level. Unlike phantom steed, the steed's AC and saving throw bonuses are all 4 lower than the graveknight's, and the steed has one-third the graveknight's Hit Points (rounded down). If the steed is destroyed, the graveknight must wait 1 hour before using this ability again. SO. This reread I was on a mission. I was determined to find a suitable alternative for Bones-in-my-head. And I did. Behold, Justin Theroux: Bones meets Cat before she kills herself with her stupidity and he teaches her everything she needs to know about vampires. And it is really refreshing meeting a vampire who knows w She's grown up knowing she was different, but any attempts to discuss her extras with her mother are met with anger and shame.

There is so much repetition. Repeated words, phrases, and situations... as a writer it’s so lazy. Think of a different approach to convey the same information – that’s what makes writing interesting and compels a reader to stay engaged. This book read like a first draft... all the ideas were there, the structure, but the soul, tone, and elegance had yet to be added. The worst example of Tell instead of Show I’ve ever read. I've been scared for you since I found out I was pregnant," she went on. The lights were off, but I didn't need them to see the tension in her face. "From the day you were born, you looked just like your father. Then each day after that, I watched your abnormalities grow as you did. Soon you'll leave, and I won't be there to watch over you anymore. You'll have only yourself to make sure you don't become like the monster who sired you. You can't let that happen. Finish school, get your degree. Move out of town, make some friends, it'll be good for you. Just be careful. Don't ever forget you're not like everyone else. They don't have evil in them trying to break out like you do."-Cat's mom Justina I think that I never liked a female character more.I had so much fun when I was reading her inner monologues.

I feel like I just need to add that unlike the Fever series where I loved Mac and cared deeply about the things happening to her, I really didn't care at all about the plot of this book or really even that much about the main character. The only thing that kept me going was the relationship between the Bones and Cat, so I really hope that this changes in the sequels. He is a protective vampire who is haunting someone. With Cat's help he believes that he will finally capture him.Bones is funny, ridiculously hot, quite a gentleman/or maybe not.The truth is that he will make you love him.You cant resist him or his charms. When at last you get rid of his last health bar, the man that has become the demon will beg you to put an end and finish him, and you’ll get the Memory: Hatred Demon, as well as two Lapis Lazuli!
