The Ferraro Pan Candy Company merged Farley’s & Sather’s Candy Company in 2012, forming Ferraro Candy Company. All of this took place under the Ferraro Group. In 2017, Ferraro Group also acquired Nestle. Ferraro took over manufacturing the candies and candy bars previously produced through the Willy Wonka candies brand. The Atomic Fireball Name The Ferraro candy company was known for their hot pan method and they used the atomic fireball in this same way. To make the atomic fireball, they build together small candy pieces to become the desired size and shape they want. Atomic Fireball was created by the Ferrara Candy Co. At the time, it was Ferrara Pan Candy Company (formed in 1908). The company has maintained ownership throughout the years with the Ferraro family. Nello was the member of the family that created the atomic fireball. The company was started by his dad. Nello also received many awards during his career. These include the NCA’s Distinguished Service Award and Candy Industry Magazine’s Kettle Award. Nello was also named Candy Industry Many of the Year in 1975.
