Aside from the 5 new characters the other thing that sets Red Dragon Inn 8 apart from its predecessors is the titular Pub Crawl. One of my friends who owns the complete set of Red Dragon Inn consistently plays with the Lich King. And, he usually does pretty well when playing against large groups.

Brother Bastian’s prayer cards can be powerful, but they come at a cost. This character gains prayer tokens throughout the game, which allow him to play the prayer cards later. You will do nothing but interact with other players. Your cards are all aimed at making your opponents' red and white counters meet so they are taken to bed and their gold distributed amongst the surviving drinkers. The moment you stop interacting is the moment everyone will be aiming all negative effects at you! Discussion about the game may not be the only thing either, most the words we said to one-another were in response to being told to drink more, and more.. Engagement Reveal the top card of your Drink Me! pile and resolve the effects. There’s actually quite a lot that goes into drinking. (Believe it or not)

In fact, it’s expected, with some cards in ‘Pub Crawl’ having modifiers which only apply to characters from earlier RDI games.

In fact, I love playing with Jasper. He’s very good at being defensive and therefore, hard to beat.To fit with the Pub Crawl aesthetic, the new characters are all proprietors of drinking establishments in the city. The Barkeeps Discard any number of cards and draw cards until you have 7 cards in your hand. You don’t have to do anything if you like your hand and have 7 cards. If you run out, just take your discard and reshuffle it into the draw pile. As you’d expect of a game about imbibing alcohol, the majority of the drinks look mouth-watering too. In fact, I’d happily down some of them myself, even having read the disastrous side effects associated with many of the brews on offer.
