Description

The best premium golf balls have all been rigorously tested over a period of time for us to discover every golf ball’s performance, feel, sound, durability, distance, and spin – along with any other individual aspects of each golf ball. The majority of the best premium golf balls have been thoroughly tested in our second golf balls robot test. Bauer Media Group consists of : Bauer Consumer Media Ltd, Company number 01176085; Bauer Radio Limited, I wouldn’t let the price of the Maxfli Tour golf ball turn you away from it. In fact, I find it to be a really good value. Feel and Sound The market for these golf balls with a tour performance at a lower price is continuously increasing but the Titleist Tour Speed is rightfully very strong in this market. Tour Speed is a great all-round golf ball which does perform slightly better in the long game than the short game but that is not to say this ball cannot hold its own around the green.

All Maxfli Tour series balls are manufactured by Foremost in Taiwan. In addition, Foremost produces balls for Vice, Wilson and OnCore. Of the Asian factories, Foremost and Nassau tend to be the most reputable, though TaylorMade acquired Nassau Golf Co. Ltd. in late 2021. That leaves Foremost (which also has a relationship with TaylorMade) as the only third-party option currently churning out balls with cast-urethane covers. If you prefer a slightly softer ball with lower compression (slightly cheaper too) then take a look at the Callaway ERC Soft golf balls. None of the layer incursion issues was significant enough for us to mark the ball as bad. Core Consistency

The Maxfli Tour X golf balls provide low spin off the tee and high spin on approach shots.

Citing Maxfli’s internal testing, the new 2023 Tour ball is slightly faster (1.1 mph) off the driver with negligible change in spin (+19.4 rpm). This results in 1.2 more yards of total driver distance.

That being said, with a compression around 80 on our gauges, the suggestion is that the Maxfli Tour S isn’t going all in on soft. Similar compression balls include the 2021 Srixon Z-Star, OnCore Vero X1 and the 2022 Bridgestone Tour B RX. The Tetrahedron dimple pattern is designed to optimize ball flight aerodynamics, increasing overall distance and improving the golf ball’s stability while in the air. Although the dimple pattern is unique, it doesn’t stand out as anything that looks glaringly different when looking down at the golf ball. However, on the short shots around the green, the Maxfli Tour golf balls hold up really well from a spin perspective. The ball spins more than I expected, and I was pleasantly surprised with some of the greenside control you can get with a 3 piece ball, not priced as high as a premium option.

Did you know you can buy recycled golf balls...?

Wilson built the Triad with a particular audience in mind - those wanting to break 80. The Triad is refined in such a way to benefit those golfers looking to continually shoot 79 and lower. By finding more fairways, hitting more greens and sinking more putts you will find more success and break the illustrious 80 barrier. The Triad has been crafted with a higher MOI to get more distance (which it certainly delivers) and a balanced construction which holds the CG to the center of the golf ball - this is what helps to hole more putts. The sound is great, I won’t tell you that it feels as buttery as an old Balata ball from Maxfli, but the ball feels strong coming off the clubface and as though it has quite a bit of speed. Based on our comprehensive Ball Lab testing, Maxfli garnered the “Best DTC Brand Quality” award as well. The spin of the Maxfli Tour needs to be broken down into three categories. The first is the spin from the tee, then the spin on approach shots, and then spin around the greens. Titleist’s Pro V1’s and Pro V1x’s are arguably the best produced golf balls because of their representation on Tour and the accolades they have achieved. They are potentially the most popular balls in golf too. Although they are so popular among pros and amateurs it doesn’t mean they are the best golf balls for everyone. What golf ball does Rory McIlroy use?
