Hunter originally The North Rubber Boot Company, were commissioned by the War Office to provide sturdy boots that were durable for sodden trenches. After World War 11 due to high demand, they designed a slimmer, more fitted boot for industrial workers and farmers. When first wearing your hunters, the rubber might be slightly stiff.
