In true daddy fashion, he is a spectacularly good sport about constantly being fawned over in this manner, from telling Star Wars fans he is “ honored to be your space daddy” to wanting reassurance that he is, in fact, the “ daddiest daddy.” On a recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, he nodded to his internet title alongside long-time friend Sarah Paulson, who says in a sketch “ he’s daddy, I’m mommy and we’re all a happy family: no crumbs left.” And then there’s my personal favorite moment, when he impishly tells Entertainment Tonight that he was, indeed, “ your cool, slutty daddy.” A tearful Nadia Donner is recounting a ‘daddy’ moment from her youth, while her psychiatrist, Dr Mark Collier, prompts her with questions. It seems like he’s trying to uncover a traumatic event from Nadia’s past regarding her sister, but the info he’s after remains out of reach in Nadia’s mind. Disappointed, he brings her out of her hypnosis. ET reporter Ash Crosson might have found herself in hot water when interviewing Pedro Pascal and his costar Bella Ramsey, who plays his daughter on The Last of Us. Things started to boil over when Crosson attempted to explain the distinction between the terms "daddy" and "zaddy" to a— once again— confused Pascal. That concludes our journey through Columbo‘s epic fourth season. Our next episode review will be Forgotten Lady, the tear-jerking Janet Leigh vehicle that Peter Falk himself rated as one of his very favourite episodes. Don’t miss it! He outlines his case that she appears to have believed she was going swimming, but it’s all too uncertain for Dr Borden to be able to give much help. But what is certain is that amobarbitol and zilothin were found in Nadia’s blood, and they can be used to break down somebody’s will. It’s starting to look a lot like foul play – could Collier have prescribed these drugs for Nadia?

A thoroughly enjoyable romp, I have no hesitation in recommending A Deadly State of Mind. It’s not quite top, top tier Columbo but is very close and an episode I can watch time and again and still find plenty to enjoy. Like all “Columbo” episodes there’s still something to enjoy. As a rule, any time when Columbo is around is generally fun. And Columbo’s crusty old Peugeot actually saves the day for once because it gives him the clue about the tires! The cut from Columbo struggling to follow the colour-coded lines on the floor to the rats navigating the maze is a cute touch. One of Collier’s party guests is played by Danny Wells, best-known to children of the 1980s like me as live-action Luigi from “The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!” (1989). But this particular cool slutty daddy is also an opportunity to look at what we mean when we say daddy. Columbo has good reason to believe Collier was in on it with Nadia, because a police doctor has suggested that the killing of Karl could have happened much earlier that the 7pm time-slot suggested by Nadia – and in that case Collier’s alibi is decidedly dodgy.Matt: So you know when you get your cat, and you put some catnip on the ground? It starts rolling around and getting all crazy? That's our story now with Pedro Pascal. He's the catnip. And it's because he's, like, sensitive, but he's tough, so he's kind of like this good guy that's about to snap at any moment…You see him in The Last of Us and he's conflicted. He's very tough, he can pull the gun and take care of business, but he's also taking care of a kid. And all this talk about "daddy," this is no coincidence. He's literally a daddy by proxy in most of these roles. From Game of Thrones, to Narcos, to an early career spot on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Pedro Pascal has been in the game for a while — so why is he only now being crowned the Internet's latest crush?

Fans of Pedro Pascal were all-too-excited when the actor took Vanity Fair's infamous lie detector test. As he was being fixed into the Velcro straps at the beginning of the interview, the Chilean-American actor quipped, "Just before you put in on me, I just want to say I'm innocent." When asked by why he was nervous to do the test, the actor responded, "Because you're trying to make me nervous, and I'm a vulnerable person, and it works." Matt: Pulling the old Trojan horse here: you said one song, I'm doing one record label. There's a label from Buffalo, New York, called Griselda Records. The biggest movement in hip hop since Wu-Tang Clan has come down. If you're a fan of anything to do with hip hop and they're not on your radar, first of all, give your head a shake. Second of all, go down the rabbit hole. There's endless artists, endless releases, and everything they do is amazing. It's a real kind of American-dream story of kids that came from nothing to absolutely take over the game. We've included some highlights below. Pedro Pascal's Best Zaddy Moments

The declaration was a continuation of a daddy determination already in the making. Pascal told Vanity Fair last year that he “was the bigger daddy” than friend and Dune daddy Oscar Isaac and that “daddy is a state of mind.” I haven’t been able to find any strong evidence that IRL moms are more prone to Pascal’s daddy charms and, believe me, I have done extensive research at this point. (I really don’t want to think about what typing “Pedro Pascal daddy” and “Pedro Pascal slutty daddy” have done to my algorithm... but also I’m kind of excited to find out...?) Adoration of Pascal as daddy seems to be fairly universal. But, as a mom, I have to imagine that other women who, as a group, have a unique understanding of nurturing just get him on a special level, you know? Like, we’d raise your TV babies with you. Not that you need our help. You’re so capable... so capable and strong... Collier’s decisions exacerbate a bad situation. If he and Nadia had come clean about the killing of Karl, it’s likely that they could have avoided jail time. Collier’s book deal would be gone, though, and being romantically linked to his patient would jeopardise his professional future. I can see why he’d want to protect that, but boy he made a mess of the cover-up plan. During the diving sequence, in which poor Nadia Donner is done in, the audience only sees things through her POV — plus the fact that on TV all the old episodes of old shows have been re-edited/trimmed to within the literal inch of their proverbial lives — I wonder how Dr. Collier knew the dive would be fatal. Nadia’s luxury apartment was only five floors up and apparently directly above the pool. Was the pool full (as the audience sees through Nadia’s seriously distorted and drugged POV) or was it empty. Pedro Pascal has played so many iconic roles, but his best part of all is being the internet’s daddy. No, he doesn’t have kids, nor do his rabid fans look to him as a father figure. As Pascal himself put it, “ Daddy is a state of mind.” And it’s a state of mind pretty much everyone finds themselves in whenever they see Pascal. The actor’s daddy status is nothing new; to see how a random actor ascended to undisputed daddydom, here are Pedro Pascal’s daddiest moments that continue to send the internet into a frenzy.

Elamin: This past week, we saw a long-awaited revival of Party Down. That's a comedy series that centers around a catering company hired to just cater to a bunch of events around Hollywood. Kathryn, it's been 13 years off the air and Party Down has returned. Is Party Down 2.0 worth the wait?

5. “I’m Your Daddy”

The word still holds many of the same tenets that it did before, but it’s more of an assessment of a type of hot now. What makes Pascal’s version so prominent are the roles he’s become famous for: gruff father figures who provide care and authority but not necessarily love. Once his car-related snooping is done, Columbo attempts to navigate the bowels of the university to find Collier – at one point even eliciting a ‘comedy female scream’ sound effect after inadvertently entering a wrong door. He eventually finds Dr Borden, who confirms she was with Collier the night before during the time he was informed of the Donner death. With The Last of Us a hit for HBO and Season 3 of The Mandalorian returning to Disney+, Pedro Pascal is everywhere we look and friends, what a time to be alive. But the Chilean-American actor’s appeal goes beyond his handsome, handsome face. Indeed, so much of our attraction comes from his penchant for choosing (and there’s no other way to say this) DILF-y babysitter roles. Even though he’s not actually a dad, Pedro Pascal is a daddy. Our daddy. The internet has declared it. Deadly State gives us a barnstorming finale to what has been a staggeringly good season of television.”

It was TikTok that would catapult thirst for Pascal into even greater heights. Why has Pedro Pascal blown up on TikTok? Instead of cementing the particulars of the crime into her subconscious, Collier instead preys on the weaknesses and recollections of her past. She has spoken to him about her love of swimming and diving as a girl, and how it so impressed her daddy. So Collier uses this info to program her to take her own life. How? He’ll call her apartment at 10pm and utter the name ‘Charles Whelan’. Upon hearing this, Nadia will become so hot that the only thing she’ll be able to do is to leap off her balcony into the apartment pool – five storeys below! Yes readers, if audacity has a name it must be Dr Mark Collier… Arnold, before rolling footage of the interview with the actor, had an embarrassing slip-up on air. Things did not go as planned on air as he remarked, "I chatted with the man of the moment who is currently also starring in the phenomenal hit The Last of Us, which we love. So I talked to him about his sex...". Five years prior to this ep, Warren was hired for “Mission: Impossible”. It was a poor year for “M:I”– Warren was unsuited for the role, giving off zero “international spy” vibes and being a victim of uncharacteristically terrible scripts (it was Year 5, right about the time many shows start to wane). I can't imagine having red carpet access only to make an actor uncomfortable by putting him into a sexual situation he didn't accept like that.

But how does he know there was a smoker there at all, someone asks. It’s then that Columbo reveals the tiny item he took from the floor of the Donner house on the night of the crime. He’s figured out that it’s the nub of a flint from a lighter that has popped out. And it can’t have been there before because the fatal night was the first time the house was used since Thanksgiving, and the place was professionally cleaned right after that.
