This product must be taken in large amounts to be effective and have no vitamin, mineral or protein content - should be used under dietetic supervision. This will signify that a product is not recommended for prescribing in both primary and secondary care. All new Vegetable oils (canola oil, sunflower oil), demineralised water, sucrose, emulsifier (E472(c)), flavour (strawberry), colour (E120).

Not for intravenous use. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Only to be used as a supplement to the normal diet. Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia. Calogen can not be taken as a sole source of nutrition but is used in combination with food and drink to gain and/or maintain a healthy weight. The Calogen range includes 3 flavours, Neutral, Banana, Strawberry which are enriched in vitamins and minerals , introducing 900 calories per a Calogen 200ml drink to provide maximum healthy weight gain. Calogen has 450 calories per 100ml. Calogen is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. Calogen is a high energy, long chain triglyceride fat emulsion which can be used for patients requiring electrolyte restrictions, can be used to replace milk in protein restricted diets, and can be used as an energy enhancer in tube and sip feeds. Calogen is available in 200ml and 500ml plastic bottles Store in a cool, dry place (5-25°C) and away from direct sunlight. Once opened, close the bottle and store in a refrigerator for a maximum of 14 days. Calogen is not suitable for freezing. Always replace lid after use. Inform primary care of need to prescribe using a TTO chart if in patient or Treatment Advice Note (TAN) if Outpatient. only and should not be routinely prescribed in primary care.
