Description

There are four manual controls along the top of the projector: on/off, play/pause, volume up, and volume down.

XGIMI has used a non-replaceable LED lamp in the Horizon. Offering a lamp life of 25,000 hours, it means that even if you used this projector for eight hours per day, the unit will last for around eight and a half years. That’s not bad going. Conclusion Automatic keystone correction can be activated any time the projector senses motion. It was too sensitive for my needs as any bump would start a new hunt and override my carefully constructed rectangle.Refer to the theoretical data from XGIMI laboratories: the power saving mode is calculated based on the average power consumption of HORIZON Pro 180W) and the power of a 98-inch TV 550W), viewed 8 hours every day in one year. The ProjectorCentral Forums is a great place to chat with other projector enthusiasts about all things projectors. Join the Discussion Fan Noise. The Horizon Pro is very quiet (XGIMI has it rated at 30dB). In my room at a distance of three feet from the projector from both the sides and behind, I wasn't able to measure anything above my room's noise floor of 30dB. At a foot behind the projector (where the fan exhaust is) I measured 34 dB. If you want 4K now, the Xgimi Horizon Ultra is worth a close look. Compared with our top-choice BenQ GP500, it provides easier initial setup along with roughly equivalent streaming and auto setup tools when moving from one spot to another. It's also the only one with an Ethernet connector and, more important, Dolby Vision for sources that support it. However, it didn't handle dark scenes with HDR10 input as well as the GP500 did in our tests.

With a throw ratio of 1.2:1, you can achieve quite a big picture without having to place the Horizon too far from your display surface. Every image mode out of the box is very blue, which causes magenta to be more of a purple. The closest to the target 6500K white point that the Horizon Pro gets (without adjusting the white balance) is in Custom image mode with color temperature set to warm, and it's still slightly blue at around 7000K. With my Calman calibration software from Portrait Displays, an X-rite i1 Pro 3 spectrophotometer, and a Murideo Six-G pattern generator, I was able to get the white balance to 6500K by using the RGB sliders that are available with a custom color temperature. My settings were Red 49, Blue 21, and Green 30, but only use those as a starting point and don't expect them to get the exact same results as product samples vary. The color temperature adjustment also fixed the magenta color point that, under all the other image settings, was far too purple (although it was still a little oversaturated, as was blue and red). The Harman/Kardon audio system, with its two 12-watt speakers, delivers enough volume to fill a large family room, and its quality is fine enough that you may not even consider using an external sound system. If you'd like to, however, you can connect one using the 3.5mm stereo or S/PDIF audio out ports, the one HDMI port with eARC support, or Bluetooth. You can also set the projector to work as a Bluetooth speaker for other audio sources. The greatest appeal of the Horizon Pro is that it's an all-in-one home cinema solution, complete with built-in speakers and onboard streaming apps. Starting off with the Harman Kardon tuned speakers, it's a pleasant surprise that they are in fact more than usable. When it comes to most projectors with built-in speakers, we often find that they sound thin and offer little in the way of dynamics, however, this isn't the case with the Horizon Pro. Love this review. I am a pretty firm believer that XGimi is leading the way with their LED projectors and others are playing a bit of catch up. They are using LED modules that are delivering what was unheard of in terms of brightness just a few years ago. Even if it can't reach 2,200 lumens, a decently calibrated 1,100 lumens is plenty for a 120" or larger screen in a dark room. Maybe even a 150"+ screen after dark if you are okay with normal movie theater brightness. You also get access to the regular Google Play Store, rather than a third-party version, and it’s possible to set up the whole projector via your phone. Start to finish, it takes a few minutes to get logged in to your account and set the projector running. For crisp, dynamic sound, built in, who better than audio experts Harman Kardon to deliver. Bespoke stereo speakers produce punchy and spacious sound. Combined with DTS Studio Sound Technology, you get an immersive surround sound effect for enveloping sound.
