Ross, L. J. (2021). "The Cove: A Summer Suspense Mystery (The Summer Suspense Mysteries)". Dark Skies Publishing. ISBN 978-1912310913. Prominent higher-ups in the Circle begin to die, one right after the other. And Ryan is next on the list. While she will always be a northerner at heart, she currently lives with her husband and their son in Bath on the outskirts of London where she spends her days writing her detective mysteries. Ross loved books from a very early age when she would find old books from her mother’s chest that she would staple and illustrate during her middle school years. Even as she has a varied taste in the types of novels that she reads, and will not mind reading the odd women’s fiction or a romance. Tai pirma tokio tipo knygų serija, kurią skaitau ir man tai labai patinka. Kaip geras mini serialas.

DCI Ryan finds the body of a man in a remote church at Heavenfield in Northumbria. So starts this third book in this series but I strongly advise that you read the other two books first. To find out more about the many philanthropic ventures Louise has founded and sponsored through her publishing imprint, Dark Skies Publishing, please visit ‘Philanthropy’. The books show extraordinary talent from a new author & each book has outclassed the previous in terms of exceptional writing, thrilling plots and characters that have such depth you can't help but feel you know them.

The North Cards

You get to learn more about Ryan's past, about what made him who he is, about the skeletons lurking in his mind, about the man who devastated him, and the result at the end is a far deeper character and a better understanding of what drives him.

Her eleventh novel, The Infirmary, is a prequel story to the DCI Ryan series and is available as a major Audible Originals audio-drama starring Tom Bateman, Kevin Whately, Bertie Carvel, Hermione Norris and Alun Armstrong.

dalis nepaliko tokio didelio įspūdžio ir nuostabos, kaip pirmoji, bet tikrai ne daug mažiau verta dėmesio.

Her husband also has permanent recognition on every book cover in her choice of attribution as a tribute to his support. The second initial in LJ Ross stands for her husband James, while the first initial is for her first name, Louise. I loved the pace of this book. Having read (and loved) Holy Island, I was keen to see how the events in this book would play out so I read it as fast as possible. When a man is found dead at the remote church of Heavenfield, DCI Ryan is the only other person for miles around. The police have no weapon, no motive and no other suspects.” I was super excited to get a copy of this book, as I had read Louise's previous book in the series, Holy Island and loved it. You can read my review for Holy Island here.DCI Ryan and his now girlfriend, Anna, were introduced to us in Holy Island: A DCI Ryan Mystery. Both books are self-contained mysteries (in case you stumble on the second one first), but it’s satisfying to watch the characters develop as the stories progress. L.J. Ross knygos yra visiškas detektyvų makdonaldas: greitos, paprastos, skanios ir visada žinau ką gausi. To kaip ir užtektų, ką čia dar komentuoti? The good guys are more balanced in their personalities. They have genuine feelings, they have relationships, and they work hard, not for power and prestige, but because they want to make the world better and safer. As in Holy Island, Ryan and Anna continue their romance; Phillips, too, has been bitten by the love bug, and I couldn’t help rooting for him. There are some smatterings of humor along the way also. We spend time with Ryan and Anna, and I really like how easy they talk about the killings and Ryan doesn’t try to sugarcoat things “to protect her.” I do get tired of heroes always trying to protect the heroines, like the heroines are made of glass, or something. And, Ryan finally tells Anna about his sister and how Edwards killed Natalie, it was sad. When it was told what actually happened that day (Ryan was dreaming) it was really horrible, what Edwards did to Natalie. And later Ryan told Anna about going to see Edwards so Anna decided NOT to tell him she felt like she was being watched that day. Duh! AND Edwards is still an important player in this story, even if he is in prison.
