Description

Everyone is different when it comes to the time to change your wax guard, but we recommend changing it when the sound quality from the aid / receiver starts to dip. Sometimes you can visibly see how built up the wax filter is, this can indicate to you when to change it. Compatibility with hearing aids:

OticonMiniFit ProWaxhearing aid filters offerproven benefits to the longevity of the hearing device: Oticon ProWax Filters can also be used with Oticon and Bernafon hearing aids that have previously used the NoWax filters. The ProWax is a shallower version of the NoWax used a lot with Oticon and Bernafon hearing aids. The ProWax has a finer filter than the NoWax and has the benefit of being nano coated with moisture repellency. For the best performance of your hearing aid, make sure that the wax filters are clean and replaced regularly. On average, wax filters will need to be changed every two weeks but depending on how much wax your ears produce, you may have to change the wax guard every week or once a month. You must inspect the wax guard every day and give your hearing aid a good brush.

Your ear canal produces ear wax which may clog up the earpiece. Ear wax is one of the main causes of problems in hearing aids. When to change your wax guard:Oticon No-Wax Filters include six individual tabs with two prongs on each. Use the empty prong to pull out the old wax guard and replace it with the new one provided on the second prong. Oticon has designed this system to be as easy-to-use as possible - there is only one way to use the 'prong' tool and very little chance that a used filter can be re-inserted on a hearing aid by accident. When changing your wax filters is also recommended to clean the area around the filter to ensure all wax is removed from the receiver before inserting you new filter. Ensuring your hands are clean and dry before changing your wax guard to ensure the best possible cleanliness. Our ears canal produce wax and that’s a natural and normal process. If wax accumulates around your hearing aid then the quality of the sound you hear will be reduced and the hearing aid might simply stop working.
