The active ingredient in this lotion is rich in citrus flavanoids that can accelerate skin pigmentation by stimulating the activity of tyrosinase and the synthesis of melanin, thereby providing sunless natural tanning, and thereby photoprotection for skin cells. Used before sun exposure it will provide early colour, accelerate the tanning response and maintain a tan to some degree all year round. Nothing fake about this tan! What I liked about the Lancaster accelerator is that it contains no self tan. It just states that it enhances melanin production. Quite how, I’m not sure as I could never find out the active ingredient and could never find nothing else on the high street that claimed to do the same job. Until now! It also works as a moisturizer, so you do not have to use an additional hydrating product.
