Description

Primarily, the authors explain how we can begin to consciously influence the outcomes of our dreams. The narrative style can come across as overly scientific and somewhat dense, which could be an impediment to engagement and staying focused. Robert’s enthusiasm and passion for the subject is reflected in the clarity of his thoughts, and upon finishing the book readers are certainly left with the urge to investigate this fascinating phenomenon even further. Each chapter begins with an inspiring quote, and the overriding sentiment is that lucid dreaming offers a gateway for an individual to pursue self-awareness, personal development and positive transformation.

What differentiates this book by Stephen LaBerge and Howard Rheingold is that its assertions and theories are consolidated by an abundance of scientific studies and empirical evidence. It is a comprehensive overview of not only what lucid dreaming is, but how readers may practically learn to control their dreams for their personal betterment. Buddhist teachings inform the theories, insights and methods which are explained at length by the authors. From the CIA’s early days, a cadre of unsung heroes helped build the agency into the premier spy institution it is today. The Sisterhood by journalist Liza Mundy tells the tale of those trailblazing female spies, who got none of the glory—and often none of the pay. They fought sexism in a male-dominated institution that could wrap its mismanagement and misdeeds in secrecy, all while helping to secure major intelligence that allowed Washington to gain an edge against its enemies in the Cold War and beyond. This book attempts to teach the skills that can help you to have lucid dreams — dreams in which you know that you are dreaming. For the skeptical, lucid dreams have been scientifically demonstrated to exist. The ability to lucid dream will open your mind to a world of infinite possibilities as you become adept at taking control of your dreams. It is certainly an advanced book, and probably most appropriate for those readers who have had at least some exposure to writings on lucid dreaming as well as eastern religion. An insightful and comprehensive introduction to lucid dreaming, this book by Daniel Love is the perfect introductory reference. Sourcejedi has just come out of anonymous lurking to demonstrate his ruthless editing tendencies by trying to clean up someone else's botched rename. He also has far too brief lucid dreams.

r3m0t (cont) (talk) (15) has only had a few lucid dreams so far, but has written most of the information in the wikibook. Overall, it is an excellent resource for people who want to delve into lucid dreaming themselves or are just interested in the subject. What is particularly intriguing about this book is that the authors then go on to describe what the reader should do once they have attained a state of awareness whilst in the dream realm. Lucid Dreaming—conscious awareness during the dream state—is an exhilarating experience. Because the world you are experiencing is one of your own creation, you can do the impossible and consciously influence the outcome of your dreams. However, many of the core statements of this book are based on anecdotal evidence, and there is an absence of references to strong empirical evidence and substantial scholarly research. Some of the author’s insights are quite unique; for example he distinguishes between DILDS (Dream Initiated Lucid Dreams) and WILDs (Wake Initiated Lucid Dreams). Sadly, it was Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine that finally helped re-anchor Central European countries in Europe. They are front-line states, finally finding their voices in Brussels. But they still harbor a certain bitterness toward Western Europe. Whoever seeks to understand where this comes from will find much wisdom in Kundera’s clairvoyant essay and the rest of the collection. Across twenty one pieces, technology is admired and upbraided, motherhood is both honoured and subverted, and there is a deep sense of grounding in various world mythologies, which are often brought forwards into a world of contemporary futurism - dryads and he-nymphs rub shoulders with interstellar travellers and Nottingham’s ghosts. Considering the level of depth this book delves into, readers who are unfamiliar with Tibetan Buddhist concepts may be confused.

Although there is bleakness, violence and concern, Smits often stirs among these settings an optimism or a familial warmth, and so Umbilical has swiftly become one of this writer’s favourite books to have on hand this month - we might even say an essential read. What’s more, the author discusses the scientific and spiritual aspects of lucid dreaming in equal measure, providing a balanced overview which doesn’t dismiss one at the expense of the other. Tharenthel (Talk) (Contribs) has had a few lucid dreams so far, and has done mostly reorganization. Kundera was right: When the dream of one Europe came true after 1989, Central Europeans found that Western Europeans were not eager to invite them into the European Union. And when they finally did join the EU, Western Europe treated them as second-class members.Means that there is little information or the information there may not be reliable. Means that there is some information, but it's not very detailed or extensive. Means that much of the information is there, but it needs to be touched up or organized. This is still usable. Means that the information is basically complete. However, more detail can always be added.
