The story is fairly interesting. I like these kinds of stories and there is more to it than what I said (I just didn’t want to give spoilers). Anissa: A Viltrumite who was infatuated with Invincible to the point that she raped him and gave birth to their son, Marky. Global Defense Agency: A government organization that the Guardians of the Globe and other superheroes work for. Komodo Dragon: A member of the Lizard League with super-strength. He was killed when he bit off Rex Sloan's explosive hand. All that being said, I like these first 4 issues. I enjoy Kirkman's sense of humor in the series, especially Mark's family sitting around the dinner table when your dad is a super hero and you're a fledgling super hero yourself.

Publication history [ edit ] Ryan Ottley, Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker at Lucca Comics & Games 2018. So, Invincible is a title that's been around for years. Years. This volume collects issues 1-4, first published in 2003. Right now, Kirkman has written 127 issues. Man, that's a long run. I've heard really great comments about this series from people I really trust so I decided to give this a chance. And I liked it, it was a nice introduction to the series. Angstrom Levy: A genius with the ability to leap across dimensions and is one of Invicible's archenemies. After being disfigured by one of his inventions, he blames Invincible and swears revenge.Potential. That is the word I would use to describe this collection. My review might be a little skewed because I have watched the first season of the television show. I do know where the first story arc is going. That is why I said "potential" because this first collection doesn't really give us anything. It is an introduction to the characters and the universe. That is really it though. You do get a sense of it being more of a mature take on this genre but there really isn't much drama in this collection. You also get a sense of the drama is going to happen but it doesn't here. As for the artwork it is fine. It fits in with my feelings about this whole collection. Nothing stands out. Girls, acne, homework, supervillains. When you're a teenager it pays to be Invincible. Mark Grayson was just an average kid living in a world full of super heroes. It wasn't until he was a teenager that he gained fantastic powers thanks to his biological father Omni-Man. He was able to fly faster than a jet, lift buildings like Hercules, and battle acne like Proactive. Girls, homework, super villains, it's just another day in the life of the one and only Invincible. Join Mark Grayson in his incredible adventures into the unknown and catch some astonishing surprises while you're at it. This is probably the best superhero comic in the entire universe, or so it claims. An interesting story with cool characters but it has so many flaws that I can’t be bothered to read anymore of this series. Pretty much, it’s not horrible but if you read superhero comics, it’s pretty much just a repeat of things you have seen many, many times. There’s nothing particularly unique, it’s not funny, it’s not exciting and it’s poorly drawn. Like I said, it’s not horrible and I know a lot of people love this series but to me it is quite overrated and bland. The Shapesmith: A Martian, disguised as human astronaut Rus Livingston, who uses his metamorphic powers to change his shape. Tether Tyrant: A freelance villain with a vest which houses elastic appendages which can pull and throw victims around. Later merged with the sentient alien vest.

The Elephant: A small-time elephant-themed supervillain that has been described in-story as a "lame Rhino rip-off". Nolan Grayson: Mark's father, Debbie's husband, and formerly the greatest superhero of Earth known as Omni-Man.The Guardians of the Globe: A superhero team. Most of the original incarnation was brutally killed by Omni-Man causing another incarnation to be formed.

Invincible Compendium Volume 1 collects the initial chapters of Robert Kirkman's groundbreaking superhero saga, Invincible. This massive volume serves as an ideal starting point for readers looking to immerse themselves in a world filled with complex characters, intense action, and thought-provoking storytelling. I noticed a lot of repeating panels. What I mean by this is throughout the entire book there’s a lot of times where you get a panel and then the same panel again, sometimes with different speech bubbles. If it was only a few times and/or for comedic effect, it would make sense but it wasn’t anything like that. It seemed kinda lazy IMO. The story is quite by- the- numbers. It's, so far, nothing new in the super-hero genre, our main character Mark Grayson is the son of the most powerful superhero in the world, Omni-Man (Think of Superman, after all, he's from another planet and has the same powers as Kal-El). Now Mark's reaching puberty so it's time for his own powers to arrive! This volume is the origin story of Invincible a.k.a our likable protagonist. He has to learn how to become a superhero, while balancing his high school and family life. Along the way he runs into a teen superhero group too, has his first battles and meet his first villain. mtv (August 27, 2008). "Episode 1". MTV. Archived from the original on December 14, 2014 . Retrieved May 3, 2015.The story explores various arcs such as when Mark travels to alternate dimensions, and fights Thragg to determine the fate of Earth.
