Description

One of the benefits of the Natural History Museum Dino Snores sleepover is having the opportunity to explore the museum without the crowds before it opens the next morning. More on what to expect during the Natural History Museum Sleepover in the Event Timeline below. We will do all we can to ensure additional needs are met and reasonable adjustments are made wherever possible. The next activity for our group was the torch-lit trail through the Dinosaurs gallery. The group sat down for a talk by a paleontologist just outside the gallery, and then each child was given an activity sheet to find clues around the Dinosaurs gallery to discover the identity of a mystery dinosaur. The museum is home to life and earth science specimens within five main collections: botany, entomology, mineralogy, palaeontology and zoology. Must-see galleries and exhibits for families at the Natural History Museum include the Dinosaurs gallery, Hope – the 25 metre long blue whale skeleton – in Hintze Hall, the Fossil Marine Reptile gallery and the Earthquake simulator in the Red Zone.

All group bookings must adhere to our adult:child ratios. Adults within the group are responsible for the supervision of the children at all times and must be aged 18+. All children must be aged 7-11 as per our age restrictions for the event. Responsible drinking is permitted. There will be cash bars in various locations throughout the Museum until 1.00. You are not allowed to bring your own alcohol into the Museum and anybody considered to be acting irresponsibly may be refused service of alcohol or asked to leave the event. As a Museum we are working hard to increase our sustainability, therefore please bring your own re-useable cup as we will not be providing cups or mugs. The consumption of alcohol is strictly forbidden at Dino Snores for Kids. If our staff suspect you have been consuming alcohol, our Events Manager has the right to search your bags and test your liquids. If you are caught with alcohol your party will be removed from the event immediately. Adults are responsible for supervising their group's behaviour throughout the event. This will ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening. We advise you to bring a bottle of water, a pillow, ear plugd and eye shades for sleeping as some lighting remains on overnight. If you or your children cannot eat the breakfast provided, please advise when booking and bring your own breakfast with you. Please ensure that these food items won't need overnight refrigeration. We will collect these items on arrival and keep them safe until you need them. Please ensure that you collect your breakfast items in the morning before the breakfast break by asking a member of staff. If anyone in your group has additional needs, accessibility or health requirements please let us know on booking.

Join us after the Sun's gone down and let your inner child go wild for a night of fun and games at the Museum. We were given an activity sheet with questions to answer, including some bonus questions specific to that day. Keep an eye out for a fun dino character bounding around the museum while you explore! We advise you to bring a bottle of water, a pillow, ear plugs and eye shades for sleeping as some lighting remains on overnight.Everyone was rounded up for the Welcome briefing in the centre of Hintze Hall under Hope the Whale. The Dino Snores team members introduced themselves, explained the rules for the sleepover and the activities that were planned for the evening. Guests will be divided into teams for the activities. Sleeping areas are different for each team and we cannot guarantee where you will be sleeping in advance. When you're shopping educational toys for your child, the first thing to consider is the age of the toy. Educational toys should be age appropriate, otherwise they will not be helpful in developing skills or learning concepts.

One of London’s most popular attractions, the Natural History Museum houses life and earth science specimens in its iconic and impressive building on Exhibition Road in South Kensington. The Natural History Museum cares for more than 80 million objects spanning billions of years and welcomes more than five million visitors annually. This event and its activities are designed for children aged 7-11. We want to ensure that all guests are able to enjoy the event, so it is for everyone's benefit we ask visitors to keep to this age range. Yes. Dino Snores for Kids encourages participation from children with disabilities and aims to be inclusive and welcoming for all children. For example, if you are buying a toy for a toddler that is too advanced, they may get bored and turn to other activities while they wait for the toy to be played with. Thus, early learning toys are appropriate for toddlers, instead of too complex toys. You will not be able to regain entry if you choose to leave the premises on the night of the event. The morning activity for our groups was a self-guided trail through the galleries. This was a fantastic part of the experience to have a good hour or so wandering through the museum and seeing the exhibits without the crowds.
