Let’s just be honest before I get into the review. If you haven’t read Things We Never Got Over, then you need to read it before you read this one. There are a few loose ends in terms of plotlines you won’t understand unless you read the first book. Aside from that, you’re good to start this one upon finishing it. The physical connection between them is incendiary, grounding him and making her wonder if exploring it is worth the risk.

Knockemout Series by Lucy Score - Goodreads

I slapped a hand to his sweaty chest and gave a shove. He didn’t budge. Not even an inch. But his hand clamped over my wrist and then he was yanking me into him. He was a wall of heat and muscle and anger. My own fury melded with his and everything went molten inside me. “I hate how much I still want to be near you.” His voice was a low, angry rasp, like the bite of gravel on bare feet. like i said above, i wasn't sure how i was going to feel about this book but i seriously loved it just as much twngo. the pacing was perfect. their relationship was super angsty so we got so much tension and 'will they, won't they' and when they did get together, we got some suspense like we did in knox & naomi's book. i was over the moon with all the luciansloane moments & set up for book 3 AND with all the perfect knoxnaomi moments. feels like i read just for them Anyways...would I recommend this book? Yes but know that this book is kinda long-winded. And only read it if you've read the first book in the series b/c what Lucy does well is character development so its definitely good to know the characters from before as well. And there was only a very tiny third act break up--as in it lasted like two minutes for them before they make up!! Hallelujah rejoice. So neither one did anything extremely stupid to cause some massive issue. Its so nice to read books where there aren’t ten chapters devoted to a breakup you know is going to get resolved and is just difficult to read. This book doesn't have that, and its amazing. It was a feeling. Some kind of magic. A rightness, I guess. It definitely didn’t make any logical sense. On paper we couldn’t be more ill-suited to each other. But there was something so right about how it felt to be with him.” You’re gonna open your mouth for me.” “Excuse me?” I was going for haughty but it came out breathy. He dipped his head, drawing me even closer. “And I’m gonna kiss you.” “You can’t just expect—” But the man did expect. And damned if I didn’t open my mouth the second his lips hit mine. the first spooning scene 😅. I don't know how it all happened, how A got to B, but... I🔥WAS🔥HERE🔥FOR🔥IT!!!! It helped relieve some of the... um... tension I was feeling because of this slow burn 😉 The s3x wasn't overly anything - but one thing that did catch me off guard was reading a sexual 'encounter' from the man's POV.. I didn't like that. I like s3x scenes from the third person or the women's POV. Just a preference thing, really, but I'm curious if anyone else noticed it?

i honestly wish i hated nash so that i can shit on him and have fun doing it. but i cant because i dont hate him, i dont care about him. he’s just so dull. boring. vanilla. no wait scratch that, vanilla has too much flavour. plain yogurt. thats what he is. edit #2: we got a title and a release date 😍 feb 21 pls come sooner 🥲🥲🥲😍😍😍 i actually want this book now now now! OMD- the h’s previous weekend fling comes into town. Nothing happens but the H is beside himself and jealous The reason these books are so good besides the crazy good romance, are the external relationships! -The girls! Naomi, Sloane and Lina steal the show with their friendship, I laughed so hard with them and all of their many antics throughout the book. (boozy girls time, Halloween)But ironically Lina doesn’t like unsolicited physical touch or affection given her past and has no interest in a relationship. What I Loved About Things We Hide from the Light This is a very good small-town romance with a swoon worthy hero, fierce female character and a dash of suspense as a killer is still out after Nash. Icy fire danced in Lucian’s eyes. “No one will get near her,” he promised. “She’ll probably give you shit about the attention,” I warned. Something that almost looked like a smile played over his handsome face. But then it was gone. “I won’t be run off as easily this time.” Lina is a badass character who went through her share of trauma as well! She is decided not to be coddled and to live her life to the fullest, searching for adrenaline shots. Whenever you’re close, everything is better. The closer you are, the easier I breathe, the less I feel like life is just a never-ending pour of lemon juice into an open wound that won’t heal. You take away the dark, the cold. And you remind me what it’s like to want to be here.”
