A four-time Grammy Award winner, she was one of the world’s bestselling recording artists of all time, with more than 100 million albums sold. My father used to smoke when he was reading me a bedtime story, so I must have associated comfort with smoke, although now I know cigarettes and secondhand smoke are toxic for your health. Olivia’s life story is one of a down-to-earth Aussie girl who has had some truly spectacular experiences in her long, illustrious life. But this memoir really started from the beginning of Olivia's life and worlds of music industries, travelling, marriage, divorce, being diagnosed with cancer. Given no choice, Dad moved to Newcastle, a two-hour flight away, where he worked as a vice-chancellor and taught German.

I bought the hard cover of this book and then found out that she was reading the audio book so I bought that too. I haven’t been in many films, but to be in ‘Grease’ and ‘Xanadu’ — both musicals that people have really enjoyed — and to dance with John Travolta and Gene Kelly in one lifetime? One of the many things my mother taught me was that no matter what you’re going through in life, kindness is what will sustain you. Carr respectfully stays silent as the woman before him continues to try to convince him, (and probably herself), that she should not do take on this role. One afternoon, we went out to fish for our dinner and a few runaway cows wandered over to our tent and trampled everything—except a can of condensed milk with a cow’s face on it!

While many will find it uplifting, it certainly contains no insight into the singer other than that she has had many health problems, she chooses to use alternative means to treat those problems even though she keeps having bad health, and she married a guy who uses herbs and plants to give her mind-altering experiences. Articulate and laced with self-deprecating humor, this is an enjoyable romp that also examines the darker realms of her life, including her cancer diagnoses and treatments. John Travolta gets a giant Valentine here but there is nothing that will pull back the very hidden curtain in his life.

Tired, but happy, I would come home and tell my father that I didn’t want to take a shower that night. I knew that she starred in Grease and also represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974. We were required to live on the Ormond College grounds so that my father was accessible both day and night. With candor, humor, and warmth, legendary musician, actress, activist, and icon Olivia Newton-John reveals her life story--from her unforgettable rise to fame in the classic musical Grease to her passionate advocacy for health and wellness in light of her battles with cancer. To the accusation that the movie was telling girls to “sex it up to get their man,” she replies in her book: “It was about choice.

I had my Liv On¸ collaborators and dear friends Amy Sky and Beth Nielsen Chapman by my side and we honored, among others, my father-in- law, Tom, a Purple Heart recipient. And even though there was heartbreak and several sour situations, Olivia seemed to find a way of honoring the best of each of these relationships as she told us about them. It felt like I was being tortured with hot pokers that were being stabbed into my side, causing searing pain to jolt up and down my left leg. One of them, Shahan, brought some much-needed joy to my life because she had a beautiful chestnut horse with white socks named Cymro, which means “friend” in Welsh.I would recommend Don't Stop Believin' by Olivia Newton-John especially to those who have been diagnosed with cancer as this book does come with a bunch of positivity when it comes to dealing with cancer. During those two months off, I spent as much time as possible with him and the three daughters of his best friend, a Welsh professor, Harry Jones. However, generally there is a superficial simplicity to her prose that just doesn't elevate her story above the level of an expanded article in a mass market magazine. She gives one-sentence and one-paragraph mentions of famous people she encounters, but there aren't really any stories about them. items posted to countries outside of the UK will take longer, and any delays in customs or customs fees or charges are beyond our control.

Olivia has always radiated joy, hope, and compassion - determined to be a force for good in the world. I have very few memories of that time besides crawling around on a thick blue carpet between my parents’ twin beds in their bedroom. When it comes down to it, 'Don't Stop Believin' is an adequate autobiography from Olivia Newton-John that will sell well and give her millions of fans something to be generally happy about.

I really enjoyed listening to this, not just because of the uplifting quotes and positive vibes but because it was also very interesting for various different reasons. A four-time Grammy Award winner, she is one of the world’s best-selling recording artists of all time, with more than 100 million albums sold. The photo and signature have been double mounted and framed within a fabulous display in acid free mount board to an overall size of 45cm x 70cm and ready to hang on your wall. And let me just say that reading of Olivia’s early European tours, as well as the story of her move to America and what happened there, especially in the early days were powerful testaments of the grit and determination that even the super-talented must go through to make it in this very hard business. He even worked on the Enigma project at Bletchley Park during WWII, cracking the German codes, and later helped bring Nazi deputy führer Rudolf Hess into custody.
