About this deal

Keep in mind that if the water is cold, you may notice some effect on the air pressure whilst you’re out paddling. The Excursion Pro K2's 3-ply super-tough construction utilizes a high molecular PVC material that is resistant to gasoline, oil, saltwater, abrasions, impacts, and sunlight, ensuring long-lasting performance. If you've got the bucks to go big, though, our favorite tandem is the Advanced Elements AdvancedFrame Convertible Tandem.

If you are paddling the boat solo and are tall, we recommend that you use the front bottom loops (which are actually intended for the 2-person configuration). Comfort - The features that give this a boost in comfort are its ergonomic backrests and removable footrests, but the inflatable seats unfortunately don't create a good firm surface to paddle against. A water release valve/ drain plug will help ensure that you can get any and all water out before lying it out to dry. Due to the low air pressure and the length of almost 4 m, the kayak hangs a little when carrying it. You can't blow more air into the valves without the pump they provide, and it's a pain to carry that in the boat with you, so when you're out in it, if it needs more air, there's nothing you can do.A drain in the boat's bottom helps you more easily get water out of this kayak before you put it away. On the downside, like any other inflatable kayak the Excursion Pro K2 may not be the most stable in rough water conditions and so it's best to avoid using in the sea where conditions can be unpredictable.

The directional stability and the performance on the water is good for comfortable tours on lakes and rivers. Although the Intex Excursion Pro is only designed for short and comfortable trips due to its low air pressure, wide and yet quite short hull for a 2-person kayak, the foot braces are a nice feature as long as the paddlers are not too tall. Even when it is inflated, handles on the front and back give you an easy way to carry it over land or onto a beach.

The duffel bag straps lack additional padding but are okay to carry for short walks from the car to the beach. For intensive use the plug system of the paddle shafts seems to wear out quickly, which would make the paddles even wobblier in the long run. The valve spring is covered with a screw cap, so that the valve is not accidentally opened on the water.

Our only uses are mainly going to be small lakes, canals, rivers including the river Thames, as we live around the London/Essex area in the UK so there's lots of calm waters to explore to start off with and then hopefully we can progress to more choppy waters but if we are looking to do something like that what sort of kayaks should we be looking at for the future if we do upgrade? The kayak's fishing-friendly features, such as rod mounts and storage options, make it a suitable choice for anglers.
